Polychlorinated biphenyls continue to be of great environmental and occupational health interest The objectives of the current study were : (1) to characterize and quantify the levels of PCB contamination in the aquatic environment of the River Nile in Greater Cairo (2) to apply the adsorbent agent technology to remove and / or decrease the PCB levels in an aqueous environment and (3) to evaluate the protective role of certain antioxidants of plant origin against PCB toxicity in rats
