Family Meliaceae comprises at least 600 species distributed in about 52 genera (Bailey and Reveal) among which are Azadirachta , Cedrela , Khaya , Melia , the most important and universally Known genus of the family is Azadirachta which contain two species (Azadirachta indica A. Juss and Azadirachta excelsa) The biological activity of Neem had been known for centuries and preparations have been used in traditional Indian medicine since ancient times
