Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a dynamic condition in which fat abnormally accumulates within the hepatocytes . It is believed to be a marker of risk of later chronic liver diseases such as liver cirrhosis and carcinoma . The fat content in liver biopsies determines its validity for liver transplantation . Transplantation of livers with severe NAFLD is associated with a high risk of primary non-function
