In this work a new small scale stand- alone hybrid solar thermal photovoltaic and membrane distillation system is proposed and to cover daily demand of potable water and electricity for a typical household in an arid and off grid place in Egypt . The system comprises a hybrid Photovoltaic - Thermal (PV-T) flat plate collector and a membrane distillation (MD) module
