Hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is a complex life-threatening neuropsychiatric syndrome that associated with acute or chronic liver failure. A spectrum of neurological symptoms and signs is observed in patients with HE. Hepatocytes injury, ammonia, oxidative stress and disturbed balance between excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmission are pathological factors that may be implicated in development of HE
