Coronary artery disease (CAD) constitutes a major health problem in many parts of the world and results from narrowing or blockage of the blood vessels. Cardiac catheterization is used for the assessment of the severity of stenosis by visual or quantitative estimation of the geometry. However, these currently standard methods are related to misestimating the presence and severity of lesions, and do not always correlate with either the clinical presentation or the physiological significance of a given coronary stenosis
