This work has been carried out to investigate the utility of the synthesis of thiophene derivatives together with their uses in heterocyclic synthesis. The work has resulted in the synthesis of a variety of 3 - thienyl thiophene derivatives, amide derivatives, thieno [c] pyrimidine derivatives, phenylhydrazone derivatives and 2, 3 - dihydrothieno [2, 3 - d] pyrimidin - 4 (1H) - one derivatives. The synthesized products were evaluated against cancer and normal cell lines
