Purpose: This study was designed to evaluate clinically and radiographically the effect of the use of B-tricalcium phosphate (Cerasorb-M) for socket preservation after tooth extraction. Materials and Methods: Thirteen patients suffering from 40 unrestorable mandibular premolars and in need for fixed dental restoration were randomly divided into two equal groups; group one acted as a control group (the sockets were left to heal with no grafting material (natural healing), and group two as a study group where extraction sockets were grafted with Beta tri-calcium phosphate (Cerasorb-M) and covered with resorbable collagen membrane (Bioteck), for socket preservation. CBCT was performed immediately and 4 months post-operativelly to evaluate socket volume and bone density. Results: In the comparison between percentage changes in socket volume of the two groups of patients, it was proved that from immediate post-operative period to 4 months post operatively, the study group showed statistically significantly higher value in socket preservation than control group which showed a decrease in volume
