Haemorrhoides and anal fissures (fissures - in - ano) are common anorectal conditions. Severe perineal pain is a frequent complaint after conventional open haemorrhoidectomy and lateral sphincterotomy operations; this study was to evaluate the results of bilateral pudendal nerve block with 0.5% bupivacaine after conventional open haemorrhoidectomy and lateral sphincterotomy operations regarding postoperative analgesia, additional analgesic therapy, bowel motions and hospital stay
