Analysis of correlation between the GCS and protein S100B in our study showed significant inverse relationship .on admission there was a significant negative correlation of 0.55 , after 3 days this correlation was stronger negative correlation of 0.87 , after 7 days this correlation was more strong negative correlation of 0.88 . In other words the higher the level of protein S100B the lower the GCS at all times , thus the level of protein S100B in blood of patients with traumatic brain inury appeared to correlate with the severity of changes in level of consciousness
