Minimally invasive spine surgery offers the benefits of decreased postoperative pain and disruption of normal anatomy, and the latter leads to shorter hospital stays. Proficiency requires intensive courses, to acquire the necessary surgical experience to perform these elegant yet at times complex procedures. The day-case procedure is a patient who is admitted, has a procedure performed and is discharged within 24 hours. This thesis embraces clinical evaluation, pharmacological requirements, procedural recommendations, and a spectrum of procedures that would be done as one day case. This thesis will be useful to all physicians who deal with back (cervical and dorsal) pain, including pain anesthesiologists, spine neurosurgeons, orthopedists, and radiologist. Objective: Efficient and easier achievement of the surgical objective with decreased risks related to the procedure, superior short-term and/or more durable long-term outcomes and quicker recovery
