The coordination chemistry of some transition metal ions and some lanthanides metal ions with two mononegative bidentate ferrocene based Schiff base ligands HL (HL₁ and HL₂) (as primary ligand) and 1,10-phenanthroline (as secondary ligand) were elucidated. The HL₁ ligand was prepared from condensation between 2-acetyl ferrocene and anthranilic acid, but HL₂ was prepared from condensation between ferrocene and 2-aminophenol. The metal complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, IR, 1H NMR, UV-Visible, mass spectroscopy, SEM and thermal analyses techniques (TG/DTG). DFT-based molecular orbital energy calculations of the new ligands have been also studied. The HL ligands (HL₁ and HL₂) were bidentately coordinating via the nitrogen atom of azomethine group and oxygen of deprotonated carboxylic group of HL and in case of HL₂ by deprotonated phenolic group. The HL₁ ligands (HL₁ and HL₂) and their binary and mixed ligand chelates were subjected to thermal analyses (TG and DTG). The biological activity (antimicrobial and antibreastic cancer activity) was also screened. MOE (molecular operating environment docking studies were performed using MOE 2008 software
