Background: Hypoxic hepatitis (HH) is one of the deleterious adverse effect of shock state and hypoxemia . Objectives This study is assessing the frequency and outcome of HH among critically ill patients in Egypt. Methodology This is a retrospective study at the critical care department Cairo University, all patients with hypoxic hepatitis among all admitted patient from 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2016. Results Frequency of HH among critically ill patients is 2.03% (95/4675) and the most common cause was cardiogenic shock and outcome was mainly death Conclusion Hh is not a rare disease in critically ill patients specially in cardiogenic shock patients
