Chalazia treatment is either medical by hot compresses and topical antibiotic drops and ointment or surgical by incision and curettage with or without intralesional steroids. (Goawalla and Lee, 2007) Refractive errors especially astigmatism, when left uncorrected, were considered as predisposing factors for recurrent attacks of blepharitis, styes and chalazia through induced overwork of muscles which alters blood flow and local immunity.(Sarma, 1970) The relationship between chalazia and corneal astigmatism has not been thoroughly investigated. Astigmatism when occurs with chalazia may cause corneal topographic changes which are important factors in corneal refractive surgery, intraocular lens power calculations for cataract surgery, and visual acuity assessments
