This thesis tackles the routing problem of light - trails under three survivability level.The first scheme is that of non - protected service (1+0) in which a single span failure can disrupt the service.The second scheme is that of dedicated protection (1+1) where spare network capacity is reserved on a backup path that bears the service traffic upon failure of the working path
