Recently, the globalization of business activities has intensied competitions among business organizations and resulted in quality consciousness, manufacture defect-free products and offer greater reliability of their products. In order to achieve this objective, manufacturing industries have adopted different paradigms like total quality management. An intrinsic part of the philosophy of these strategies requires the monitoring of the performance of the individual processes. These results are then compared with those of industry leaders for competitive bench marking. One metric popularly used is the process capability index.Controlling and improving quality of products is important for many companies. In particular, lifetime of products is a relevant quality characteristic that producers have to monitor. Our interest in the current thesis is to evaluate the lifetime performance index for Burr III distribution under Type II and progressive Type II censored schemes on the condition of known lower lifetime limit. Based on Type II and progressive Type II censoring, the estimators of lifetime performance index (CL) are obtained
Confidence Interval (CI) Conforming Rate (Pr) Cumulative distribution function (cdf)
