Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Analytical Chemistry

This thesis focuses on binary pharmaceutical formulations analysis. Two binary mixture were studied. The first one is hyoscine butylbromide (HYS)/ ketoprofen (KTP), while the second is dextromethorphan HBr (DEX) /benzocaine (BENZ). Different analytical methods (spectroscopic and chromatographic) have been discussed and applied on standard drugs and dosage form. This thesis contains 3 parts: Part one: General introduction and literature review. Part two: Determination of hyoscine butylbromide and ketoprofen in their mixture.Section A: Spectrophotometric and Spectroscopic (Coabsorptive, dual wavelength and IR coupled to chemometric methods) Section B: Chromatographic (HPLC & TLC) Part three: Determination of dextromethorphan HBr and benzocaine in their mixture. Section A: Spectrophotometric and Spectroscopic (dual wavelength, ratio difference, second derivative and IR coupled to chemometric methods ) Section B: Chromatographic (HPLC)
