The role of radionuclide SPECT/CT in parathyroid imaging and correlation with histopathological and laboratrory findings / دور المسح الذري باستخدام التصويرالمقطعي للفوتون با لاضافة الي التصوير المقطعي في تصوير الغدة الجاردرقية وارتباطها بالنتائج النسيجية المرضية والمخبرية Mariam Mahmoud Ibrahim ; Supervised Khaled Abdelfattah Elsaban , Hesham Ahmed Aboueisha , Nahla Dessoki Elsayed - Cairo : Mariam Mahmoud Ibrahim , 2022 - 220 P . : charts , facsimiles ; 25cm
Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Nuclear Medecine
Objectives: Correlate histopathological findings with degree of 99mTcsestamibi uptake in early and late imaging, correlate SPECT/CT findings with histopathological association and laboratory findings and try to discover factors of multiplicity in adenomas Methods: A prospective study had been done on 105 patients from 2019 to 2021 on patients biochemically proved to be primary hyperparathyroidism referred to the nuclear medicine unit at NEMROCK. All patients had been subjected to clinical assessment (Age and sex), laboratory assessment (for parathormone hormone, serum calcium, and phosphate levels), nuclear imaging in the form of 99mTc-pertechnetate thyroid planar images, 99mTc-Sestamibi planar, and SPECT/CT images. All images had been done within 10 min. after injection (early) and 2 hours post-injection (delayed). Then all patients had been treated by surgical removal followed by histopathological assessment of the surgically removed specimens for parathyroid and thyroid histopathology
