Summary, etc.	تتناول الدراسة العصر الحجري الحديث في الهند، وذلك من خلال دراسة أهم الملامح الحضارية لهذا العصر في ثلاث مناطق رئيسية بالهند، وتشمل هذه السمات كل من المساكن، والثقافة المادية (الفخار والأدوات)، والمدافن والمعتقدات الدينية، والاقتصاد المعيشي (الزراعة واستئناس الحيوان)، كما شمل الحديث الموقع الجغرافي وأهم المواقع الأثرية والتأريخ. وتنقسم الدراسة إلى ثلاثة فصول، جاء الفصل الأول بعنوان وادي كشمير، والفصل الثاني بعنوان وادي نهر الجانج، والفصل الثالث بعنوان جنوب الهند.و أوضحت الدراسة أنأهم ما تفرد به وادي كشمير عن باقي مناطق الهند هي حفرات السكن والدفنات الحيوانية والحصادات الحجرية والحراب وندرة الأدوات القزمية، وفي المقابل يحمل وادي كشمير تشابهات مع عدة مواقع في وادي السند والصين. كما أن أهم ما تميز به وادي نهر الجانج هو الفخار ذو طبعات الحبل، والأكواخ المبنية من البوص المغطى بالطين. أما أهم ما تميز به جنوب الهند فهي أكوام الرماد، والطقوس التي ارتبطت بتكوينها، والدفن داخل الجرار، وندرة الأدوات العظمية. كذلك أوضحت الدراسة أن هناك اختلاف في المدى الزمني والتسلسل الحضاري للعصر الحجري الحديث بين مناطق الهند، وتعد أقدم المناطق هي وادي نهر الجانج (حيث بدأ امتد العصر الحجري الحديث فيها منذ 7500 ق.م حتى 1500 ق.م تقريباً)، ويليها وادي كشمير (2700- 1000 ق.م تقريباً)، أما أحدث المناطق فهي جنوب الهند (2500- 1250 ق.م).

The study showed that the most important characteristics of the Kashmir Valley are the<br/>dwelling pits, animal burials, stone harvesters, spears and the scarcity of<br/>microliths. The most important characteristics of the Ganga Valley are the<br/>cord-impressed pottery, and wattle-and-daub huts. The characteristics of<br/>South India are the ash mounds, the rituals associated with the formation of<br/>these mounds, the burial inside jars, and the scarcity of bone tools.<br/>232
