| Summary, etc. | : The aim of this study was to determine whether pretreating primary molars with silver<br/>diamine fluoride and potassium iodide (SDF + KI) under resin modified glass ionomer restoration<br/>(RMGI) affect the fluoride uptake into dentine or not. Methods: Twenty carious extracted<br/>primary molars were sectioned mesiodistaly forming two similar halves into forty sections. Each<br/>tooth was placed in a separate container with its 2 halves. Teeth were then randomly allocated<br/>either to the control or intervention group. In each tooth, the caries was excavated in each half.<br/>The control group received resin modified glass ionomer. The intervention group received silver<br/>diamine fluoride and potassium iodide followed by resin modified glass ionomer. After 2 weeks,<br/>fluoride percentage by weight in dentine was measured in both groups using energy dispersive<br/>xray analysis (EDX).. |

| Summary, etc. | يعد تسوس الأسنان مرض مزمن متعدد العوامل و يعتبر مشكلة صحية عامة عالمية. هناك العديد من الأساليب السريرية التى يتم استخدامها أثناء تحضير السن للتحكم في تسوس الأسنان ، ومع ذلك ، فقد أظهرت تقنيات الحد الأدنى من التدخل الجراحي نجاحًا كبيرًا. تعتمد هذه التقنيات طفيفة التوغل على الإزالة الجزئية للعاج الطري وفي نفس الوقت الحفاظ على حيوية اللب. يعتبر ديامين فلوريد الفضة أحد أهم الطرق الطفيفة التوغل لعلاج تسوس الأسنان عند الأطفال. و لقد أظهرديامين فلوريد الفضة كفاءة كبيرة في منع وتوقف تسوس الأسنان في الأسنان اللبنية. و على الرغم من النجاح السريري لـديامين فلوريد الفضة ، إلا أنه تسبب في تلون الأسنان باللون الأسود مما يؤثر على قبول الوالدين لهذا العلاج. لذلك ، فقد أوصى باستخدام يوديد البوتاسيوم بعد ديامين فلوريد الفضة لتقليل اللون الأسود. |
