| Summary, etc. | Background: First year nursing students face some certain social issues and undergo a lot<br/>of pressure from studies. Negligence in settling the problem, on the one hand, and too<br/>much stress gripping students, on the other hand, obviously leads to a situation in which<br/>they show more intensely vulnerable to various tensions, compared with other segments of<br/>society. Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of Creating Opportunities for Personal<br/>Empowerment (COPE) nursing program on improving life skills and social self-efficacy<br/>among nursing students. Setting: Faculty of Nursing, Cairo University. Design: A quasiexperimental<br/>design was utilized in this study. Sample: A systematic random sample of 50<br/>students aged between 18-20 years old were divided randomly into two groups, study (25<br/>students) and control (25 students). Tools: Socio-Demographic Data Sheet, Social Self-<br/>Efficacy Expectation Scale and Life Skills Assessment Scale. Results: There were<br/>statistical significant correlations between total score of personal characteristics and social<br/>self-efficacy and life skills among the first year nursing students. There were highly<br/>statistical significant correlations between social self-efficacy and life skills of the study<br/>group than the control group. Conclusion: The study concluded that, the COPE nursing<br/>program proved that, it is highly effective on improving social self-efficacy and slightly<br/>effective on improving life skills among the first year nursing students. This study<br/>recommended that, nursing curricula should prepare nursing students by creating<br/>continuous educational opportunities to empower them in enhancing their social selfefficacy<br/>and life skills needed for their professional roles and to overcome their potential<br/>career barriers.<br/> |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: يواجه طلاب التمريض في السنة الأولى بعض المشكلات الاجتماعية ويتعرضون للكثير منها<br/>من ضغط الدراسة والإهمال في حل المشكلة من ناحية أيضاً<br/>من ناحية أخرى، من الواضح أن الكثير من التوتر الذي يجتاح الطلاب يؤدي إلى موقف يمكن فيه<br/>ويظهرون أنهم أكثر عرضة لمختلف التوترات، مقارنة بشرائح أخرى من المجتمع<br/>مجتمع. الهدف: تقييم فعالية خلق الفرص للأفراد<br/>برنامج التمريض التمكين (COPE) في تحسين المهارات الحياتية والكفاءة الذاتية الاجتماعية<br/>بين طلاب التمريض. المكان: كلية التمريض جامعة القاهرة. التصميم: شبه تجريبي<br/>تم استخدام التصميم في هذه الدراسة. العينة: عينة عشوائية نظامية مكونة من 50 فرداً<br/>تم تقسيم الطلاب الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 18-20 سنة بشكل عشوائي إلى مجموعتين، الدراسة (25<br/>الطلاب) والسيطرة (25 طالبا). الأدوات: ورقة البيانات الاجتماعية الديموغرافية، والتحليل الذاتي الاجتماعي<br/>مقياس توقعات الكفاءة ومقياس تقييم المهارات الحياتية. النتائج: كانت هناك<br/>وجود ارتباطات ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الدرجة الكلية للخصائص الشخصية والاجتماعية<br/>الكفاءة الذاتية والمهارات الحياتية لدى طلاب السنة الأولى تمريض. كانت هناك للغاية<br/>وجود علاقة ارتباطية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الكفاءة الذاتية الاجتماعية والمهارات الحياتية للدراسة<br/>المجموعة من المجموعة الضابطة. الخلاصة: خلصت الدراسة إلى أن COPE التمريض<br/>أثبت البرنامج أنه فعال للغاية في تحسين الكفاءة الذاتية الاجتماعية وبشكل طفيف<br/>فاعلية في تحسين المهارات الحياتية لدى طلاب السنة الأولى تمريض. هذه الدراسة<br/>وأوصى بضرورة إعداد مناهج التمريض لطلاب التمريض من خلال إنشاء<br/>توفير فرص التعليم المستمر لتمكينهم من تعزيز كفاءتهم الذاتية الاجتماعية<br/>والمهارات الحياتية اللازمة لأدوارهم المهنية والتغلب على إمكاناتهم<br/>الحواجز المهنية. |
