| Summary, etc. | Hyperuricemia is the result of metabolic disturbance occuring in chronic kidney disease.<br/>Ultrasound: non invasive, free of ionizing radiation, inexpensive approach, has recently been used to indentify Mono Sodium Urate crystals deposit for diagnosing gout.<br/>Aim of study: defect urate crystal deposition using ultrasonography in femoral cartilage of end stage kidney disease. Correlation between uric acid and prescence of hypercholesterolemia in ESKD.<br/>Methodology:<br/>A total of 30 patients in a cohort study among ESKD adults, whatever age and duration of dialysis, on regular HD for more than one year excluding all patients with knee replacement or knee injection with steroids.<br/>Results:<br/>It was found that femoral cartilage double contour sign was in 11 patients (36.7%) that shows presence of double contour sign (which indicates urate crystal deposition), Suprapatellar effusion in 20 patients (66.7%), suprapatellar aggregates was in 10 patients (33.3%).<br/>There was positive correlations between uric acid level, total cholesterol, LDL and fasting blood sugar.<br/> |

| Summary, etc. | تعد الموجات فوق الصوتية العضلية الهيكلية أداة مفيدة وغير جراحية للكشف عن الأضرار التشريحية فى الغضروف الزججى والأنسجة الزليلية والأوتار لدى الأفراد الذين يعانون من فرط حمض يوريك الدم بدون أعراض<br/>أجريت هذه الدراسة التحليلة على ثلاثون مريضاً يعانون من الفشل الكلوى المزمن فى قسم الطب الباطنى، القصر العينى، جامعة القاهرة للكشف عن ترسب بلورات اليورات باستخدام الموجات فوق الصوتية فى غضروف الفخذ فى الركتبين.<br/>المجموع فوق الرضفى بالنسبة للعمر ومؤشر كتلة الجسم والمختبرات، كان متوسط عمر المرضى الذين يعانون من المجموع فوق الرضفى 43 ± 14 سنة، وكان متوسط مؤشر كتلة الجسم 24.1 ± 5.7 كجم/ م2 وكان متوسط اجمالى الكوليسترول و 40 ± 168 LDL/ ملغم ديسيلتر و 86 ± 33 ملغم/ديسيلتر على التوالى، من المحتمل ان متوسط عمر المرضى الذين ليس لديهم تجمعات فوق الرضفة كان 46 ± 12 عاماً، وكان متوسط مؤشر كتلة الجسم 27.6 ± 4.9 كجم/م2 وكان متوسط اجمالى الكوليسترول والبروتين الدهنى منخفض الكثافة (LDL) 38 ± 180 ملجم/ديسيلتر و 90 ± 32 ملجم/ديسيلتر، على التوالى، لم تكن هناك علاقات ذات دلالة احصائية بين المجموع فوق الرضفى والعمر، ومؤشر كتلة الجسم والمختبرات.<br/>مستوى حمض اليوريك فيما يتعلق بنتائج السونار، لم تكن هناك علاقة ذات دلالة احصائية بين مستوى حمض اليوريك ونتائج السونار.<br/> |
