Summary, etc.	Background: Obstructive uropathy (OU) is a potentially life-threatening urologic emergency that requires urgent decompression. Percutaneous nephrostomy (PCN) is performed to establish urinary drainage; it is a safe, minimally invasive, and effective procedure for upper urinary tract diversion with a low rate of morbidity. Despite success of nephrostomy tube placement up to 99%, complications occur in up to 6% of patients. Aim of the study: Is to evaluate the effect of discharge nursing instructions on selected complications (skin related complications, tube related complications) among patients with nephrostomy tube. Design: Consecutive non- equivalent pretest-posttest time series quasi-experimental control group design was utilized in the study. Setting: The study was conducted in selected Urology Departments affiliated to Cairo university hospitals, and the General Authority for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes. Sample: A convenient sample of 60 patients scheduled for nephrostomy divided into two equal control and study groups constituted the study sample. Tools: Three tools were utilized to collect data pertinent to the study, namely; Personal Background Information Form (PBIF), Nephrostomy Complications Follow up Form (NCFF) and Numerical Pain Rating Scale (NPRS). Results: The age of the study sample ranged from 18 to 60 years; near two thirds and three fourth of control and study group respectively were males. There was no significant difference between control and study groups’ total complications mean score post 24 hours. However, there were statistical significant difference between the two groups three days, two weeks and four weeks post nephrostomy insertion. Conclusion: Nursing instructions presented to patients and their caregivers help in reducing nephrostomy complications. Recommendation: Replication of the study on a larger probability sample selected from different geographical areas in Egypt to obtain more generalizable findings. Nurses should provide patients who had long-term nephrostomy and their care givers, self-management instructions to prevent and minimize the related complications.

Summary, etc.	تعتبر الكلى من أهم الأعضاء بالجسم و الكلية تكون على شكل حبة الفاصوليا و بحجم قبضة اليد في الجزء الخلفي من تجويف البطن على جانبى العمود الفقري. تلعب الكلى دورًا أساسيا في تنظيم سوائل الجسم و ضبط ضغط الدم،... . تسمح الكلى للشخص أن يأكل ويشرب وفقًا لعاداته دون حدوث تغيير بنسبة السوائل الخاصة به. يمكن أن تؤثر العديد من الاضطرابات المختلفة على وظائف الكلى ويمكن أن تؤدي إلى مجموعة متنوعة من الأمراض<br/>يؤدي انسداد الحالب إلى ضمور الكلى وتسمم كلوى قد ينتهي بفشل كلوى. علاوة على ذلك غالبًا ما يترتب على هذا الانسداد عدوى و إلتهابات فى الجهاز البولى، مما يتسبب في أضرار إضافية للأعضاء المصابة. يمكن تصنيف إنسداد المسالك البولية على نطاق واسع على أنه بسبب ضغط داخلي وخارجي. و لذلك فإن أنبوب فغر الكلية هو أنبوب ضيق يتم إدخاله في حوض الكلوي بغرض تصريف البول و الذي بدوره يقوم بتحويل البول بعيدًا عن الحالب والمثانة إلى كيس تصريف خارجي عن طريق الجلد و يكون هو الوسيلة الأنسب لعلاج إنسداد الحالب.<br/>يعتبر فغر الكلية إجراءً آمنًا للغاية، ولكن هناك بعض المخاطر والمضاعفات التي يمكن أن تحدث كأي إجراء جراحي. تنقسم هذه المضاعفات إلى مضاعفات كبيرة وصغيرة. يجب تعليم مرضى أنبوب الكلى الرعاية الذاتية حيثما أمكن ذلك و / أو إعطاء تعليمات لذويهم من مقدمي الرعاية قبل الخروج من المستشفى، و تحويلهم إلى فريق تمريضي متخصص لدعمهم و إرشادهم لتوفير الإمدادات الكافية لعمل غيار على أنبوب الكلي<br/>يجب على التمريض تعليم المرضى أو القائمين على رعايتهم خطوات العناية بمكان فغر الكلية و التي تتضمن الآتي: فحص كيس تصريف البول باستمرار، تجنب إلتواء الأنبوب أو الخلع المفاجئ و خطوات الغيار على مكان خروج الانبوبة. يجب على التمريض أيضًا التأكد من سهولة التواصل مع المرضي بإستمرار وفهمهم لخطوات رعاية أنبوب الكلى و متابعتهم. تستلزم هذه المتابعة توفير فريق تمريضى متخصص لتقييم الجروح ورعاية مكان فغر الكلية و توفير الغيار بشكل دوري.
