Summary, etc.	Endometrial carcinoma (EC) is the most common type of uterine <br/>cancer. Its incidence rate is being rapidly increasing. Endometrioid <br/>endometrial carcinoma constitutes approximately 80% of all endometrial <br/>carcinomas.<br/>Caveolin-1 is an important structural protein that was found to be <br/>overexpressed in many cancers acting as a tumor promoter or suppressor <br/>according to the tumor type and stage.<br/>This study aimed at evaluation of Caveolin-1 expression in <br/>endometrioid endometrial carcinoma and correlation of this expression with <br/>various clinicopathological parameters.<br/>Immunohistochemical staining for Caveolin-1 was performed on <br/>paraffin-embedded sections of 44 cases of endometrioid endometrial <br/>carcinomas that underwent radical hysterectomy with bilateral salpingooophorectomy.<br/>Caveolin-1 expression was detected in cancerous epithelial cells in <br/>18.2% of the cases while 65.9% of the cases showed stromal Cav-1 <br/>expression.<br/>Caveolin-1 expression in epithelium showed statistically significant <br/>association with T stage (p value =0.01) and with FIGO stage (p value =0.01). <br/>Positive Caveolin-1 expression in epithelium has a direct significant <br/>summary<br/>109<br/>relationship with invasion of other organs and direct significant relationship <br/>with high FIGO stage.<br/>As for Caveolin-1 expression in stroma , it showed statistically <br/>significant association with myometrial invasion (p value =0.02) and there is <br/>inverse significant relationship between strong stromal expression and deep <br/>myometrial invasion.<br/>Also, There is statistically significant association between Caveolin-1 <br/>expression in the epithelium and its expression in the stroma (p value =0.001).<br/>This study demonstrates that Cav-1 expression plays a critical dual role <br/>as a tumor suppressor or promoter of invasion ; strong stromal expression <br/>appears to be protective against progression. While decreased stromal <br/>expression with increased epithelial expression was associated with <br/>aggressive tumors.

Summary, etc.	سرطان بطانة الرحم هو النوع االكثر شيوعا من سرطان الرحم و معدل االصابة به يتزايد بسرعة <br/>و يشكل سرطان الغدة البطانية الرحمية حوالي %08 من جميع حاالت سرطان بطانة الرحم .<br/> كافيولين1- هو بروتين هيكلي مهم , لوحظ انه يتم التعبير عنه بشكل مفرط في العديد من انواع <br/>السرطانات حيث يعمل كمحفز للورم او مثبط وفقا لنوع الورم و مرحلته.<br/> هدفت هذه الرسالة الي تقييم تعبير كافيولين1- في سرطان الغدة البطانية الرحمية و ارتباط هذا <br/>التعبير مع مختلف العوامل المرضية السريرية .<br/> تم اجراء هذا التعبير المناعي الكميائي لكافيولين1- علي 44 حالة من حاالت سرطان الغدة البطانية <br/>الرحمية التي خضعت الستئصال الرحم الجذري مع استئصال المبيضين و قناتى فالوب.<br/> تم اكتشاف تعبير كافيولين1- في الخاليا الظهارية السرطانية في %1081 من الحاالت بينما <br/>اظهرت %9.86 من الحاالت تعبير ايجابي في النسيج الضام.<br/> أظهرالتعبير االيجابي لكافيولين1- في الظهارة ارتباطا ذا داللة احصائية و عالقة مباشرة مع مرحلة <br/>الورم المتقدمة تبعا لالتحاد الدولى ألمراض النساء و التوليد . كما اظهرايضا عالقة مباشرة مع غزو <br/>االعضاء االخري .<br/> اما بالنسبة لتعبير الكافيولين1- في النسيج الضام فقد أظهر ارتباطا ذو داللة احصائية مع اجتياج<br/>الورم للنسيج العضلى للرحم و عالقة عكسية ذات داللة إحصائية بين التعبير اإليجابىي لكافيولين في النسيج <br/>الضام واجتياج الورم للنسيج العضلى للرحم ألكثر من منتصفه.<br/> هناك عالقة عكسية ذات داللة إحصائية بين التعبير اإليجابىي لكافيولين1- في نسيج الظهارة والنسيج <br/>الضام .<br/> توضح هذه الرسالة ان تعبير كافيولين1- يلعب دورا مزدوجا حاسما كمثبط للورم او محفز للغزو حيث <br/>ان التعبير االيجابي القوي في النسيج الضام يلعب دورا للحماية كمثبط للورم بينما يظهر دور التعبير <br/>الظهاري كمحفز في االورام المتقدمة
