| Summary, etc. | Gender difference exists in reporting of acute stroke symptoms. Women with validated strokes present more frequently with nontraditional stroke symptoms than men. Recognition of this difference might yield faster evaluation and management of female patients with acute stroke eligible for acute therapies. Accurate information on stroke burden in men and women are important for evidence-based healthcare planning and resource allocation. Previously, limited research suggested that the absolute number of deaths from stroke in women was greater than in men, but the incidence and mortality rates were greater in men. However, sex differences in various metrics of stroke burden on a global scale have not been a subject of comprehensive and comparable assessment for most regions of the world, nor have sex differences in stroke burden been examined for trends over time. |

| Summary, etc. | يوجد اختلاف بين الجنسين في اعراض حالات السكتة الدماغية الحادة. النساء المصابات بسكتات دماغية يبدين بشكل متكرر أعراض غير تقليدية للسكتة الدماغية مقارنة بالرجال. قد يؤدي الاعتراف بهذا الاختلاف ال تقييم علاج أسرع للمريضات المصابات بسكتة دماغية حادة مما يؤهلهن للعلاجات الحادة الطارئة .المعلومات الدقيقة عن عبء السكتة الدماغية على كلا من الرجال والنساء مهمة لتوفير خطط للرعاية الصحية القائمة على بحث العوامل المسببه وتخصيص الموارد المناسبه لعلاجها. في السابق ، أشارت الأبحاث المحدودة إلى أن العدد المطلق للوفيات الناجمة عن السكتة الدماغية لدى النساء كان أكبر منه عند الرجال ، لكن معدلات الإصابة كانت أعلى عند الرجال. ومع ذلك ، لم تكن الفروق بين الجنسين في المقاييس المختلفة لعبء السكتة الدماغية على نطاق عالمي موضوع تقييم شامل وقابل للمقارنة لمعظم مناطق العالم ، ولم يتم فحص الفروق بين الجنسين في عبء السكتة الدماغية و اختلافه على مر الزمن و البحث.<br/> |
