| Summary, etc. | This dissertation discusses the securitization of migration in the European Union (EU), and whether the EU Member States prioritize border control and migration management over human rights and the protection of migrants, using Copenhagen School securitization theory. It showcases the factors that led to the securitization of migration including how the Common European Asylum System failed to contain the migration crisis of 2015, which was the ground for framing irregular migrants as a security threat by the government. It also explains the act of securitizing migration through analyzing policies and agreements the EU pursued in response for the crisis. The dissertation reaches a conclusion that the EU in fact prioritizes border control over the protection and safety of migrants throughout its findings. On the other hand, it also tackles the issue of undocumented minors and how they are affected by the securitization of migration in the EU, and how negatively they are affected by the policies and laws established to contain the crisis, studying the case of Hungary with its anti-immigrant rhetoric and how this affects minor migrants. |

| Summary, etc. | تتناول الرسالة مسألة أمننة قضية الهجرة فى الاتحاد الأوروبى وإذا ما كانت الدول الأعضاء تعطى الأولوية لتأمين حدودها قبل تأمين المهاجرين وحماية حقوقهم خاصة وإن كانوا لاجئين، مستخدمة نظرية الأمننة التى قدمتها مدرسة كوبنهاجن الفكرية، وتعرض الرسالة العوامل التى مهدت الطريق للأمننة ومن أهمها فشل سياسات ونظم اللجوء الأوروبية فى التعامل مع أزمة اللاجئين فى 2015 واحتواءها، وكيف تم اعتبار المهاجرين مصدر تهديد للأمن القومى لدول الاتحاد عقب الأزمة، وذلك عن طريق تحليل الاتفاقيات والقوانين التى سنها الاتحاد الأوروبى فى مجابهة الأزمة وكيفية تطبيق هذه القوانين فى ظل وجود قيم انسانية واعراف دولية لا يجب الحياد عنها، مما ترتب عليه استنتاج ان الاتحاد الأوروبى يهتم بتأمين حدوده أولاً و أخيراً حتى وإن جاء ذلك على حساب المهاجرين، ومن ناحية أخرى تتطرق الرسالة إلى القصر من المهاجرين غير الشرعيين كفئة فى حاجة إلى المزيد من الاهتمام، وتسلط الضوء على مدى تأثير سياسات الأمننة على تلك الفئة الضعيفة، متخذة دولة المجر كدراسة حالة. |
