Summary, etc. Two types of clays were used; Aswan and Kaolin clays, Corn Starch as a pore-forming agent, and Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) as a binder material to fabricate ceramic membranes. The raw materials were characterized by XRF for chemical composition, XRD for mineralogical composition, DTA, and TGA for thermal analysis, and particle-size distribution. Ceramic membrane samples were prepared by uniaxial pressing method and pressed under a pressure of 10 MPa. Membrane samples were then dried, and fired at temperatures of 900, 1000, 1100, and 1200 °C. Then characterized by the determination of water absorption, bulk density, porosity, and compressive strength. The effect of temperature and the addition of starch by 5% on the permeate flux and salt rejection were assessed. The recommended membrane is found to be the one made from Kaolin clay without starch, and fired at 1000°C (KII). The selective layer of KII is developed by polymer layer deposition of cellulose acetate and then annealed at 60°C for 5 minutes. The polymer-ceramic membrane without annealing (P-CM1) achieved the highest salt rejection for well water treatment

Summary, etc. تم استخدام نوعين من الطفلة هما الطفلة الأسواني والكاولين، ونشا الذرة كعامل تشكيل للمسام، وكحول البولي فينيل كمادة رابطة لتصنيع الأغشية السيراميكية. تم تشخيص المواد الخام باستخدام الفحص بأشعة حيود التوهج للتركيب الكيميائي وأشعة الحيود السينية لتركيب الأطوار والتحليل الحراري لتتبع التصرف عند الحريق وتحليل المناخل لمعرفة توزيع المقاس الحبيبي. تم تحضير محلول 3% من الكحول وخلطه مع كل نوع من نوعي الطفلة وتم الصب في قوالب اسطوانية تحت ضغط 10 ميجا باسكال. تم بعد ذلك تجفيف عينات الأغشية، وحرقها عند درجات حرارة تتراوح من 900 إلى 1200 ْم. تم اختبار العينات من حيث امتصاص الماء والمسامية الظاهرية والكثافة الكلية ومقاومة التهشم. تم تقييم تأثير درجة الحرارة وإضافة النشا بنسبة 5% على تدفق المياه وفصل الأملاح. تم بعد ذلك ترسيب طبقة بوليمرية من أسيتات السليولوز ومعالجتها حرارياً عند 60 ْم لمدة خمس دقائق. حقق غشاء البوليمر والسيراميك بدون المعالجة أعلى نسبة فصل للأملاح لمعالجة مياه الآبار.
