Summary, etc.	Background: High-level noise exposure is one of the most common job dangers worldwide. Noise-<br/>induced hearing loss is one of the most common occupational disorders. However, little is known <br/>about printing press workers' present level of knowledge and practices about noise-induced hearing <br/>loss. Aim: To assess knowledge and practices of printing press workers toward noise-induced <br/>hearing loss in Giza Governorate. Design: A descriptive design was utilized to fulfill the aim of this <br/>study. Setting: The study was conducted at the book sector in Faisal, Giza Governorate, Egypt. <br/>Sample: A purposive sample of 100 printing press workers was included in the study who fulfilled <br/>the following inclusion criteria: technicians who were exposed to printing press machines, work <br/>experience of more than 6 months at the printing press, and exposure to noise for at least 8 hours <br/>per day. Tools for data collection: I. Noise-Induced Hearing Loss Questionnaire for printing press <br/>workers, and II. Reported practices check list. Results: The current study result showed that a <br/>statistically significant positive correlation was found between total knowledge and total practices <br/>scores, and a statistically significant positive correlation was found between the practices of printing <br/>press workers and their educational level. A highly statistically significant positive correlation was <br/>found between monthly income and workers’ practice. Conclusion: More than three-quarters of <br/>printing press workers had an unsatisfactory level of knowledge, and the majority of them had an <br/>unsatisfactory level of practices. Recommendations: The current study recommended that the <br/>printing workers receive continuous training on safety guidelines and enforce standard safety <br/>practices to decrease the hazards of noise in the workplace. Further researches are recommended to <br/>find out knowledge and practice among printing press workers on a large scale for generalization.

Summary, etc.	يعد التعرض للضوضاء عالية المستوى أحد أكثر مخاطر العمل شيوعًا في جميع أنحاء العالم. يعد فقدان السمع الناجم عن الضوضاء أحد أكثر الاضطرابات المهنية شيوعًا. ومع ذلك، لا يُعرف سوى القليل عن المستوى الحالي للمعلومات والممارسات التي يتمتع بها عمال الطباعة حول الضوضاء المسببه لفقدان السمع. هدفت الدراسة الى: تقييم معلومات وممارسات العاملين في مجال الطباعة تجاه الضوضاء المسببه لفقدان السمع في محافظة الجيزة. التصميم: تم استخدام التصميم الوصفي لتحقيق هدف هذه الدراسة. مكان الدراسة: أجريت الدراسة في قطاع الكتاب بفيصل، محافظة الجيزة، مصر. العينة: تم تضمين عينة قصدية مكونة من 100 عامل في المطبعة في الدراسة والذين استوفوا معايير الاشتمال التالية: الفنيون والعمال الذين تعرضوا لآلات الطباعة، وخبرة العمل لأكثر من 6 أشهر في المطبعة، والتعرض للضوضاء لمدة لا تقل عن 8 ساعات يوميا. أدوات جمع البيانات: إستبيان الضوضاء المسببه لفقدان السمع لعمال المطابع ،و الممارسات المتبعة لعمال المطابع تجاه الضوضاء المسببة لفقدان السمع. النتائج: أظهرت نتائج الدراسة الحالية وجود علاقة ارتباط موجبة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين درجات المعلومات الكلية ومجموع درجات الممارسات، كما وجدت علاقة ارتباط موجبة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين ممارسات العاملين في مجال الطباعة ومستواهم التعليمي. كما وجدت علاقة ارتباط إيجابية ذات دلالة إحصائية عالية بين الدخل الشهري وممارسة العاملين. الخلاصة: أكثر من ثلاثة أرباع العاملين في المطبعة لديهم مستوى غير مرض من المعلومات، وكان لدى غالبيتهم مستوى غير مرض من الممارسات. التوصيات: أوصت الدراسة الحالية بأن يتلقى عمال الطباعة تدريبًا مستمرًا على إرشادات السلامة وتطبيق ممارسات السلامة القياسية لتقليل مخاطر الضوضاء في مكان العمل. ويوصى بإجراء المزيد من الأبحاث لمعرفة المعلومات والممارسات بين العاملين في مجال الطباعة على نطاق واسع للتعميم.
