Summary, etc. Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a disease defined as <br/>persistent alterations in kidney structure, function or both with implications <br/>for the health of the individual. Purpose of the Study: This study was <br/>conducted to determine the effect of resisted exercise in comparison with <br/>whole body vibration in selective renal functions and physical performance <br/>in hemodialysis patients. Subjects and Methods: Sixty patients of both <br/>sexes(34 male and 26 female) with chronic renal failure participated in the <br/>study, their age ranged from 40 to 50 years old and recruited from <br/>hemodialysis unit of Mashtoul Al-Souk Centeral hospital, Alsharkia, <br/>Egypt. They were randomly assigned into three equals in number (A, <br/>B&C). each study group (A& B) was received treatment program 3 times <br/>-week (inter dialytic) for 12 weeks study group (A) was received resisted <br/>exercise (mild) using ankle free weights for lower limb muscles, study <br/>group B was received Whole-body vibration training (WBVT) and control <br/>group (C) was received conventional physical therapy program (aerobic <br/>exercise and breathing exercise). Assessment was performed twice, before <br/>and after treatment: urea reduction ratio, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, 6-<br/>minute walk test and quality of life questionnaire. Results: The results <br/>showed there was significant decrease of Urea, and URR as well as <br/>significant increase of 6MWT and energy, emotion, total of Sf 36 and in <br/>group A & B compared with control group. There was as significant <br/>decrease of creatinine in group B compared with control group and no <br/>significant difference of creatinine in group A compared with control <br/>group. Conclusion: Both resisted exercise and whole-body vibration are <br/>effective in improvement of dialysis efficiency and performance.
