| Summary, etc. | Objective: The Purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of <br/>aquatic exercises on balance in Sickle Cell Anemic Children. Methods: <br/>Sixty children with Mild Sickle Cell Anemia and Poor Balance participated <br/>in this study with age ranging from 5-10 years old. They were divided <br/>randomly into two groups of equal number (30 children in each). Study <br/>group (A): This group received medical treatment, balance exercises and <br/>aquatic exercises sessions and Control group (B): This group received <br/>medical treatment and balance exercises. The program was continued for <br/>eight weeks with two sessions per week for sixteen sessions. Each session <br/>lasted for forty minutes for aquatic exercises session and thirty minutes for <br/>balance exercises session. Assessement was done before and after 2 <br/>successive months to Hemoglobin by using Complete blood analysis and <br/>for balance by using Pediatric Balance Scale (PBS). Results: In Study <br/>group (A) there was significant improvement of balance with a percent <br/>28.09% and a significant improvement of Hemoglobin with a percent <br/>29.2%, while in Control group (B) there was non significant improvement <br/>of balance with a percent 10.93% and a non significant improvement of <br/>Hemoglobin with a percent 8.44% Conclusion: It was concluded that <br/>aquatic exercises have a significant effect on improving balance and <br/>hemoglobin in Sickle cell anemic children. |

| Summary, etc. | أجريت هذه الدراسة على ستين طفل من الأولاد والبنات (۳۵ولد و۲۵بنت) تم إختيارهم من العيادة الخارجية لأمراض الباطنة بمستشفى شبين الكوم التعليمى، تتراوح أعمارهم من ۵ إلى ۱۰ أعوام بمتوسط عمر (۳۰,۷ ±۱,٦٦عام) عام لمجموعة الدراسة و(۲٦,۷ ±۱,۷۰عام) للمجموعة الضابطة. وقد تم تقسيم المرضى الى مجموعتين متساويتين: مجموعة الدراسة (أ): وإحتوت على (۱۷ولد و۱۳بنت) وقد تلقت العلاج الدوائي، تمرينات الاتزان بالاضافة إلى التمرينات المائية. المجموعة الضابطة (ب): وإحتوت على (۱۸ولد و۱۲بنت) وقد تلقت العلاج الدوائي و تمرينات الاتزان فقط. وكانت مدة الدراسة ثمانية أسابيع بمعدل جلستين اسبوعيا ومدة جلسة تمرينات الإتزان هي:۳۰ دقيقة ومدة جلسة التمرينات المائية هي:٤۰ دقيقة. وقد تم قياس معدل الإتزان ومستوى الهيموجلوبين فى الدم قبل بدء البرنامج وبعد الإنتهاء منه. نتائج البحث: أظهرت النتائج إرتفاع قيم الهيموجلوبين والاتزان فى مجموعة الدراسة (له دلالة إحصائية) بينما لا توجد أي دلالة إحصائية فى المجموعة الضابطة. لذلك يوصى بإستخدام التمرينات المائية للأطفال المصابين بأنيميا الخلايا المنجلية لتحسين الإتزان ومستوى الهيموجلوبين فى الدم. |
