Summary, etc. | The aim of the current investigation was to study laccases production from different microorganisms and evaluation of their activity for using them as biocatalyst to enhance bioelectricity production from polluted water using economic Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC). Different fungi were originally isolated from the soil collected from different locations at Western desert in Egypt, and then the nutritional, physiological and environmental factors affecting laccase production from these fungi were optimized. All these laccases activity were assayed and the most active laccase was characterized and purified. This laccase showed potential efficacy to enhance electricity generation from polluted water, and also remove phenols from this water when it used as cathodic reaction catalyst at the MFC. |

Summary, etc. | إننا اليوم في أشد الحاجة لكي نساعد هذا الكوكب الذي نعيش فيه كي يكون أفضل لنا ولأجيالنا من بعدنا. تعتبر الكهرباء الحيوية من أهم أنواع الطاقة الخضراء والتي يتم التخلص من خلالها من ملوثات أو مركبات عضوية كثيرة وتحويلها إلي طاقة كهربائية نظيفة. وتعد انزيمات اللاكيز انزيمات صديقة للبيئة وتستخدم علي نطاق واسع في انتاج الكهرباء الحيوية عن طريق استخدامها كعوامل مساعدة حيوية لإتمام التفاعلات في خلايا الوقود الحيوية. في دراستنا هذه لقد تم عزل ثلاثة أنواع مختلفة من الفطريات من أماكن متعددة في الصحراء الغربية بجمهورية مصر العربية. ولقد تم تحديد قدرة كل فطر علي انتاج انزيم اللاكيز وقياس تركيزه وذلك بعد توفير كل الظروف البيئية والفسيولوجية المناسبة لإنتاج هذه الإنزيمات، وبعد انتاج هذه الإنزيمات تم استخدامها كعوامل مساعدة حيوية لإتمام التفاعلات الكاثودية في خلايا الوقود الحيوية التي تم تصميمها بصورة اقتصادية بهدف تقليل تكلفة الطاقة المنتجة. |
