Summary, etc. For real systems, system identification should estimate the model before the controller design process. In this thesis, identification methods such as: nonparametric methods, adaptive extended Kalman filter, and optimization techniques are presented and then applied to identify a real mechanically unstable system, Ball and Beam system. The system is divided into two subsystems, each one is identified separately. Sufficient experimental work is conducted to identify specific regions or criteria of each subsystem. An accurate linear model is estimated. The friction, and backlash effect are significant model nonlinearities. <br/>The finally identified model is verified by being simulated and compared with the real system output. Also, different control techniques are applied to fulfill fast and accurate responses. The limit cycle phenomenon appears in the system response and is reduced to 2% using Model Reference Adaptive Control. <br/>For real systems, system identification should estimate the model before the controller design process. Summary, etc. عند دارسة علم التحكم وتطبيق نظرياته، يجب معرفة النظام المرجو التحكم به، و كلما ازدت معرفتنا بخواص الو معادلات النظام، كلما تمكنا من اختيار المتحكم المثالي لتحقيق النتيجة المرجوة و بدقة، في هذه الرسالة تم د ارسة أساليب التعرف على النظم غير الخطية و تم اختيار الطرق الأكثر ملاءمة للتجربة العملية مثل: الد ارسة الترددية و طريقة كالمان وطرق البحث لتحقيق أقل خطأ، و تم اختبار تجربة الكرة و العصا، و هي تجربة معقدة و غير مستقرة و بها عدد من الظواهر الغير خطية مثل الاحتكاك، و غيرها من الظواهر غير المتصلة التي تمثل صعوبة في عملية النمذجة و التحكم، كما أن النظام يتكون من نظامين فرعيين: نظام الكرة المتدحرجة على العصا، و نظام الموتور المتحكم ب ازوية ميل العصا، و قد تم د ارسة كل منها على حدة و استنتاج النموذج الأمثل لكل منهما. <br/>في نهاية الرسالة تم اختبار مدى دقة النظام المستنتج، وذلك بمحاكاته ومقارنة النتائج مع مثيلاتها في النظام الحقيقي، كما تم تطبيق عدد من المتحكمات وذلك للحصول على استجابة مثالية. حيث تمكن المتحكم من التغلب على ظاهرة التردد المستمر الناتجة عن الظواهر غير الخطية في النظام.
