| Summary, etc. | Insulating refractory bricks are of high porous materials, lightweight and have low thermal conductivity. Palm date seeds were initially added to a mixture of kaolin and grog to produce insulating fire bricks. Later on, polystyrene and perlite were added to the mixture for more enhancements. The samples were weighed and dry mixed for 10 min, then the percent of water was added and a wet mixing is performed using a mechanical mixer for 10 min, then molded and shaped in 50×50×50 mm3 cubes. After molding, the samples were left to dry for 48 h in air, then dried in a dryer until the moisture content decreases to 6%, then fired in a muffle furnace at 1200ºC. Apparent porosity, water absorption, bulk density, cold crushing strength and thermal conductivity of the produced insulating fire-bricks have been studied. |

| Summary, etc. | تم استخدام نوى البلح بعد طحنه كمادة عضوية في إنتاج الطوب الحراري العازل. في البداية تم إضافة نوى البلح إلى خليط من الكاولين والجروج بنسب مختلفة. بعد إضافة الماء، تم تشكيل العينات على شكل مكعبات بأبعاد 50×50×50 مم3. تُركت العينات لتجف لمدة 48 ساعة في الهواء، ثم جففت في مجفف حتى يصل مستوى الرطوبة إلى 6%، ثم تم حرقها في فرن معملي عند 1200 درجة مئوية لمدة ساعتين. تمت دراسة الخواص مثل المسامية الظاهرة وامتصاص الماء والكثافة الظاهرية وقوة التكسير على البارد والتوصيل الحراري للطوب الحراري العازل المُنتج. بعد ذلك تم إضافة نسبة من البوليسترين والبيرلايت إلى الخليط بهدف تقليل الكثافة الظاهرية دون التأثير على قوة التكسير على البارد. وقد اتبعت قيم المواصفة القياسية الهندية (IS 2042) لانتاج الطوب الحراري العازل من الفئة (ب). |
