| Summary, etc. | Background: The Electronic media such as computers, tablets, and mobile phones are now widely used in areas of communication, education, entertainment, and business throughout the world. While there are many benefits to this, uncontrolled technology usage can lead to problems such as electronic media addiction Aim of the study: This study aimed to investigate the association between electronic media addiction and behavioral changes among adolescents. Research design: A descriptive correlational research design was utilized. Sample: A purposive sample of 294 students. Setting: This study was carried out in two schools in Cairo Governorate, the first one is Al Moneera Preparatory Governmental Language School, the second school is Al Mobtadayan Secondary Governmental Language School. Tools: Socio-demographic and electronic media usage sheet, Multiple Screen Addiction Scale, & Adolescent Behavioral Changes Questionnaire. Results: 75.50% of the study sample was monothetic electronic media addiction, 24.5% of the study sample was polythetic electronic media addiction. Near half of study sample (45.9%) had moderate behavioral changes and only 9.5% of study sample had significant behavioral changes. Moreover, there is a significant positive correlation between electronic media addiction and behavioral changes among studied sample. Conclusion: The prevalence of electronic media addiction is higher among adolescents, which negatively affected their behaviors. The main behavioral changes were aggression, hyperactivity, conduct problems and emotional problems. Recommendations: Safe electronic media usage should be endorsed into students’ curriculum. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية العلمية: الوسائط الإلكترونية مثل أجهزة الكمبيوتر والتابلت والهواتف المحمولة تُستخدم الآن على نطاق واسع في مجالات الاتصال والتعليم والترفيه والأعمال في جميع أنحاء العالم. بينما هناك العديد من الفوائد لذلك، يمكن أن يؤدي الاستخدام غير صحيح للوسائط الإلكترونية إلى مشاكل مثل إدمان هذه الوسائط. هدف الدراسة: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التحقيق في العلاقة بين إدمان الوسائط الإلكترونية والتغيرات السلوكية بين المراهقين. تصميم البحث: تم استخدام تصميم الارتباط الوصفي . العينة: 294 طالبً من مرحلتي الاعدادي والثانوي . مكان الدراسة: أجريت الدراسة في مدرستين في اداره السيده زينب بمحافظة القاهرة، الأولى هي مدرسة المنيرة الإعدادية الرسمية للغات، والثانية هي مدرسة المبتديان الثانوية الرسميه للغات. الأدوات: تم استخدام ثلاثة أدوات لجمع بيانات الدراسة وهي كالتالي: (١) تتكون من جزئين ، الجزء الاول يشمل استمارة المعلومات الشخصية و الاجتماعية و الجزء الثاني يشمل استمارة نمط استخدام الوسائط الإلكترونية، (٢) استبيان إدمان الشاشات الالكترونية، (٣) استبيان التغيرات السلوكية لدى المراهقين.النتائج: أشارت النتائج الرئيسية إلى ان 75.5% من عينة الدراسة كانت تعاني من إدمان نوع واحد من الوسائط الإلكترونية ، و24.5% من عينة الدراسة كانت تعاني من إدمان اكثر من نوع من الوسائط الإلكترونية. 45.9% من عينة الدراسة كان لديهم تغييرات سلوكية متوسطة و 9.5% من عينة الدراسة كان لديهم تغييرات سلوكية ملحوظة وعلاوة على ذلك، كشفت النتائج عن وجود علاقة إيجابية قوية بين إدمان الوسائط الإلكترونية والتغيرات السلوكية بين عينة الدراسة. الخلاصة: إدمان الوسائط الإلكترونية مرتفع بين المراهقين، مما أثر سلبًا على سلوكياتهم. كانت التغيرات السلوكية الرئيسية هي العدوانية، فرط الحركة ، مشاكل السلوك والمشاكل النفسية. التوصيات: يجب تضمين استخدام الوسائط الإلكترونية الآمنة في مناهج الطلاب. |
