Summary, etc. Background: The impact of hempiparesis on balance and gait in children creates postural asymmetry during standing and walking. Purpose: To investigate the effect of lateral walking training with mirror visual feedback on standing balance and gait in children with hemiparesis. Methods: Sixty children with hemiparesis of both sexes (25 girls- 35 boys) whose age ranged from 5 to 7 years participated in this study.They selected from Qaha Central Hospital and Tukh Central Hospital. They were randomly assigned into two groups of equal number: the control group underwent a designed physical therapy program to improve balance and gait, and the study group underwent the same program for the control group in addition to lateral walking training with visual feedback. Balance was assessed by HUMAC Balance System and gait was assessed using 3D-Gait Analysis (Qualysis Track Manager operating system) before and after twelve successive weeks of intervention, three sessions/ week for one hour. Results: Within each group comparison (pre-post) there were significant improvements in all measured variables in both groups (control-study) at p-value ˂ 0.05. When comparing the results of both groups post treatment, the results revealed significant improvement in favor of the study group. Conclusions: Lateral walking training with mirror visual feedback additional to the designed physical therapy program has beneficial effects on balance and gait in children with hemiparesis.

Summary, etc. شارك في هذه الدراسة 60 طفلاً من كلا الجنسين أعمارهم بين ٥ إلى ٧ سنوات و يعانون من الخزل النصفي. تم تقسيمهم بشكل عشوائي إلى مجموعتين متساويتين في العدد: المجموعة الضابطة التي خضعت لبرنامج علاج طبيعي مصمم لتحسين التوازن والمشي ، ومجموعة الدراسة خضعت لنفس البرنامج للمجموعة الضابطة بالإضافة إلى التدريب على المشي الجانبي. تم تقييم التوازن بواسطة نظام التوازن HUMAC وتم تقييم المشي باستخدام تحليل المشي ثلاثي الأبعاد (نظام التشغيل Qualys Track Manager) قبل وبعد ثلاثة أشهر من العلاج. النتائج بالمقارنة ضمن كل مجموعة كانت هناك تحسينات كبيرة في جميع المتغيرات المقاسة في كلا المجموعتين (ضابطة - دراسة) عند قيمة p ˂ 0.05. وعند مقارنة نتائج كلا المجموعتين بعد العلاج، أظهرت النتائج تحسنا ملحوظا لصالح مجموعة الدراسة. الاستنتاجات: التدريب على المشي الجانبي مع ردود الفعل البصرية باستخدام المرآة جنبا إلى جنب مع برنامج العلاج الطبيعي المصمم هو أكثر فعالية في تحسين التوازن والمشي لدى الأطفال المصابين بالشلل النصفي.<br/>
