Background: Clinical education is an essential part of nursing education. It aims to prepare students to be able to provide safe and quality nursing care. However, despite its significance, it carries many difficulties for the responsible nurse educators due to its unique nature. Aim: To determine difficulties of clinical nursing education from nurse educators’ perspectives. Design: A descriptive cross-sectional design was utilized. Setting: The current study was conducted at faculty of nursing, Cairo University. Sample: A purposive sample consists of 180 nurse educators who meet the inclusion criteria were included in the study. Tools: (a) Nurse Educator's characteristics sheet, (b) Difficulties in clinical nursing education from perspectives of nurse educator’s questionnaire. Results: The study results revealed that the difficulties from perspectives of nurse educators included students/educator ratio (48.9%); availability of conference room (57.2%); availability of sufficient numbers of clinical settings (51.1%); availability of changing room for faculty staff members (48.9%); availability of needed supplies and equipment for training (45.0%); and overcrowding as a result of presence of students from other programs that result in lack of learning opportunities (46.7%). Conclusion: There are many difficulties in clinical nursing education from the perspective of nurse educators. On top of these difficulties were the increasing number of students and the lack of educational facilities in clinical settings. Recommendation: Faculty administrative should plan carefully with relation to students/educator ratio as well as provide adequate facilities and resources to achieve educational objectives. |

هناك نوعان رئيسيان من تعليم التمريض, أحدهما هو التعليم النظري, والآخر هو التعليم الإكلينيكي. نظرًا لأن التمريض مهنة عملية, فإن أكثر من نصف ساعات أي برنامج دراسي لتعليم التمريض يتم تخصيصها للتعليم الإكلينيكي. تكمن أهمية هذا النوع من التعليم في أنه يتيح للطلاب فرصة التطبيق العملي لما قد تعلموه داخل قاعات الدرس. عادة ما يتم هذا التطبيق داخل بيئات حقيقية مثل المستشفيات بمختلف تخصصاتها, على أن يسبق نزول الطلاب إلى المستشفى قضاء فترة من التدريب العملي تعتمد على المحاكاة -كمرحلة وسيطة وضرورية بين التعليم النظري بقاعة الدرس والتطبيق الفعلي بالمستشفى- وذلك بمعمل المهارات داخل المؤسسة التعليمية. من خلال التعليم الإكلينيكي, يتمكّن الطلاب من معاينة دور الممرض/ة كما هو على أرض الواقع, وكذلك معايشة هذا الدور من خلال التفاعل المباشر مع المرضى وذويهمم وأفراد طاقم الرعاية الصحية من أطباء, وتمريض, وغيرهم. من هنا, فإن تعليم التمريض الإكلينيكي يعد صمام الأمان الذي يضمن تزويد المجتمع بطاقم عمل على درجة عالية من الكفاءة ولديه القدرة على تقديم رعاية تمريضية آمنة وذات جودة. <br/>يلعب معلم التمريض دورًا هامًا في التعليم الإكلينيكي, حيث أنه يعتبر حلقة الوصل بين الطلاب والجامعة من جهة, والمرضى والمستشفى من جهة أخرى. هذا الدور متعدد الأوجه, فهو معلّم في نظر الطلاب, وزميل عمل لدى فريق التمريض بالمستشفى, وممرض في أعين المرضى. لذا, فإن عليه الموازنة بين تلك الإعتبارات, بحيث تكون الأولوية دائمًأ للدور التعليمي تجاه الطلاب. ذلك الدور الذي يتمثل في حمله أمانة تحقيق الأهداف التعليمية داخل بيئات التعليم الإكلينيكي, تلك التي تتميز بالتعقيد وصعوبة التحكم وعدم التوقع. في هذا الشان, يواجه معلم التمريض العديد من الصعوبات أثناء قيامه بمهام التعليم الإكلينيكي, من بينها: تزايد أعداد الطلاب كل عام, ومحدودية أماكن التدريب, وعجز الإمكانيات والأدوات, إلى جانب عدم تعاون أفراد الطاقم الصحي. كل هذا وأكثر يزيد من صعوبة المهام الملقاة على عاتق المعلم, ويجعل من التحديد الدقيق لمثل تلك الصعوبات المحتملة -في سياقاتها ذات الصلة- أمرًا بالغ الأهمية, حيث أن تحديد أي مشكلة يعتبر الخطوة الأولى في سبيل التغلب عليها. |
