Summary, etc. This work has been carried out to present and characterize new indirect atomic absorption spectrophotometric (AAS) and electrometric (conductometric and chemically modified carbon paste ion-selective electrodes (CMCPEs)) methods for the determination of the two drugs named xylometazoline hydrochloride (XMZ.HCl) and metoclopramide hydrochloride (MCP.HCl). New CMCPEs sensitive for drugs were constructed. They are based on ion-association of drug cation with anions of phosphotungstate and silicotungstate, according to the calculated molar ratios. The solubility and the solubility products of these ion-associates were determined conductometrically. The electrodes were constructed and fully characterized. Several effects affecting on the performance characteristics of the new electrodes were studied. The best sensors were used to perform potentiometric determination of the drug cations by potentiometric titration. New conductometric titration method for the determination of the above mentioned drugs was developed. The conductometric method involves determination of the two drugs by titration against standard solution of sodium tetraphenylborate or ammonium reineckate. The study includes the different factors affecting the conductometric detection of the end point. Factors affecting the solubility of drug-reineckate ion-pairs by AAS were studied and indirect AAS method for determination of both drugs was also applied. All results obtained by the three methods were treated statistically and were in good agreement with the pharmacopoeial and reference methods. Intracomparison of the three new methods was also performed.

Summary, etc. تشتمل هذه الدراسة علي بحث مرجعي لإثنين من الأدوية و هما (زيلوميتازولين هيدروكلورايد) و (ميتوكلوبراميد هيدروكلورايد) وإيجاد طرق كهروكيميائية جديدة لتقديرهما و إيجاد طريقة جديدة للقياس الطيفي الإمتصاصي الذري الغير مباشر. تعتمد الطريقة الأولي علي تصنيع مجسات انتقائية تقوم علي فكرة عجينة الكربون المعدلة كيميائيآ. و لقد تم إدماج المادة النشطة بداخل عجينة الكربون السالف ﺫكرها. أما المادة النشطة فتتكون كنتيجة لدمج أيون الزيلوميتازولين أو الميتوكلوبراميد مع الفوسفوتنجستات و السليكوتنجستات بنسب مولارية محددة و تعتبر طريقة قياس التوصيلية الكهربية هي الطريقة الثانية لتقدير هذين الدوائين عن طريق ترسيبهما باستخدام رباعي فينيل بورات الصوديوم و رينيكات الأمونيوم. كما تم تقدير الدوائين بطريقة غير مباشرة باستخدام القياس الطيفي للإمتصاص الذري و ذلك عن طريق إضافة كمية زائدة من رينيكات الأمونيوم إلي الدواء بهدف ترسيبه كاملآ ثم تقدير عنصر الكروم الذائد في الرشح بهدف طرحه من الكروم الكلي المضاف و ذلك من أجل تقدير الدواء بطريقة غير مباشرة.
