| Summary, etc. | Background: Temporomandibular joint has anatomical, biomechanical and neurological interactions with cervical region in a complex functioning that addressed as Cranio-Cervical mandibular system. Objective: To examine the relationship between bruxism and cervical pain, cervical range of motion, cervical proprioception error and cervical functional activity in bruxer participants. Design: A prospective cohort study design. Subjects: Sixty-seven participants were chosen of both genders, their mean age (24.3±5.6) years from the outpatient clinic of Health Unit in 6th October city, and Ibrahim polyclinic, with temporomandibular disorder ’Bruxism’. Methods: Pain pressure algometer was used to assess pain pressure threshold for trigger point in Masseter, Temporalis, Sternocledomastoid and Trapezius, bubble inclinometer was used to assess cervical range of motion and cervical proprioception error in all cervical movements and Copenhagen Neck Functional Disability Scale (Arabic version) was used to assess cervical functional activity. Results: There was a statistically significant indirect correlation between cervical proprioception error (flexion and ipsilateral lateral flexion) and pain pressure threshold, also there was significant indirect correlation between proprioception error (extension) and cervical functional activity, while there was significant direct correlation between pain pressure threshold and cervical range of motion (bilateral rotation) . Conclusion: The study proved that temporomandibular joint pain was related to limited cervical range of motion, impaired cervical proprioception and difficulty in cervical function activity in participants with bruxism. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: يتفاعل المفصل الصدغي الفكي تشريحيًا وميكانيكيًا حيويًا وعصبيًا مع منطقة الفقرات العنقيه في عملية معقدة يتم تناولها على أنها نظام الفك السفلي القحفي العنقي.<br/>الهدف: دراسة العلاقة بين صرير الأسنان وألم الفقرات العنقيه ، ونطاق حركة الفقرات العنقيه ، وخطأ الحس العميق العنقي والنشاط الوظيفي العنقي لدى المشاركين الذين يعانون من صرير الأسنان.<br/>التصميم: تصميم دراسة مستقبلية لمجموعة من المشاركين.<br/>الموضوع: تم اختيار سبعة وستون مشاركًا من كلا الجنسين، بمتوسط أعمارهم (24.3 ± 5.6) عامًا من العيادة الخارجية لوحدة الصحة بمدينة 6 أكتوبر، وعيادة الرعاية الأولية، يعانون من اضطراب المفصل الصدغي الفكي "صرير الأسنان.".<br/>الطريقة: تم استخدام مقياس ضغط الألم لتقييم عتبة ضغط الألم لنقطة الزناد في العضلة الماضغة والعضلة الصدغية والعضلة القصية الترقوية الخشائية والعضلة شبه المنحرفة، وتم استخدام مقياس الميل الفقاعي لتقييم مدى حركة الفقرات العنقيه وخطأ الحس العميق العنقي في جميع حركات الفقرات العنقيه وتم استخدام مقياس إعاقة الرقبة الوظيفية كوبنهاجن (النسخة العربية) لتقييم النشاط الوظيفي العنقي..<br/>النتائج: كان هناك ارتباط غير مباشر ذو دلالة إحصائية بين خطأ الحس العميق العنقي (الانثناء والانثناء الجانبي من نفس الجانب) وعتبة ضغط الألم، كما كان هناك ارتباط غير مباشر ذو دلالة إحصائية بين خطأ الحس العميق (التمديد) والنشاط الوظيفي العنقي، في حين كان هناك ارتباط مباشر ذو دلالة إحصائية بين عتبة ضغط الألم ونطاق الحركة العنقية (الدوران الثنائي)..<br/>النتيجة: أثبتت الدراسة أن آلام المفصل الصدغي الفكي كانت مرتبطة بنطاق محدود من الحركة العنقية، وضعف الحس العميق العنقي وصعوبة نشاط وظيفة الفقرات العنقيه لدى المشاركين الذين يعانون من صرير الأسنان. |
