Summary, etc.	Aim: This study evaluated the clinical performance of giomer based injectable resin composite versus resin modified glass ionomer in restoring class V carious cavities <br/>Methodology: A total of 30 subjects with Class V Carious Cavities were recruited. Teeth were divided into two groups (n=15): Group (1): Giomer based injectable resin composite (Beautifil Flow Plus X F03) while Group (2): Resin modified glass ionomer (Fuji II LC) and were restored according to the manufactures' instructions. The restorations were evaluated using the modified USPHS criteria at baseline, 3, 6, 9 ,12 and 18 months. Data were tabulated and statistically analyzed with significant level set at (P ≤ 0.05) using Chi-Squared test and Cochran’s Q test. Survival rate was analyzed using Kaplan-Meier and Log-rank test. <br/>Results: Inter and intra group comparisons showed no statistically significant difference between Giomer based injectable resin composite and Resin modified glass ionomer at different time intervals in terms of marginal adaptation, anatomical form, secondary caries, marginal staining, postoperative sensitivity, color match and retention. Moreover, there was no statistically significant difference between both materials regarding the overall survival rate after 18 months.<br/> Conclusion: The clinical performance Giomer based injectable resin composite and Resin modified glass ionomer was similar and found to be clinically acceptable after 18 months of clinical use.<br/>Clinical significance: Giomer based injectable resin composite and Resin modified glass ionomer are highly recommended restorative material in class V cavities.
