| Summary, etc. | تعتبر مشكلة شُح المياه (ندرة المياه)، وما ينجم عنها من تبعات تؤثر علي مختلف قطاعات التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والزراعية والصناعية، وبالتالي حدوث ما يُسمي بالتصحر مما يؤدي الي صعوبة تنمية الأقاليم الصحراوية، لذلك ندرة المياه من العوامل الأساسية التي تُعكر صفو التنمية الإقليمية المستدامة، ولذلك تم التركيز عليها عالمياً من قبل المجتمع الدولي والآمم المتحدة، وأصبح حالياً (الحرب علي المياه والطاقة)، اذ تصدرت (تحلية مياه البحر) كعامل لسد العجز المائي، ولذلك في هذا البحث سوف يتم تناول أسباب التي تعيق تنمية الأقاليم الصحراوية والساحلية، ومعدلات المياه عالمياً ومحلياً، وسوف يتم إستعراض تحلية مياه البحر كمصدر مستدام للمياه، وإنعكاسه علي الآثر البيئي، وإستنتاج مقومات نجاح إقامة محطات تحلية مياه البحر في مصر. |

| Summary, etc. | The problem of water scarcity and its resulting consequences have significant impacts on various sectors of social, economic, agricultural, and industrial development, leading to phenomena such as desertification that hinders the development of desert and coastal regions. Therefore, water scarcity is a fundamental factor that challenges the prospects of sustainable regional development. Globally, the international community and the United Nations have focused on addressing water scarcity, now considered part of the 'water and energy war.' Seawater desalination has emerged as a solution to water deficits, making it a key player in sustainable regional development. This research will explore the obstacles hindering the development of desert and coastal regions, global and local water rates, review seawater desalination as a sustainable water source, examine its environmental impact, and draw conclusions on the success factors for establishing seawater desalination plants in Egypt. |
