Summary, etc. Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of chest biofeedback exercises on physical stress level in leukemic children. Subjects and procedures: Sixty children from both sexes aged from 8 to 12 were selected randomly from NCI diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia receiving chemotherapy treatment who were classified as anxious children based on Screen for child anxiety related disorders (SCARED) and were randomly assigned into two equal groups: group A (study group) consisted of 30 children, group B (control group) consisted of 30 children. Children had undergone assessment for their heart rate variability (HRV), galvanic skin response (GSR), heart rate (HR), respiratory rate (RR) and blood volume pulse (BVP) through Biofeedback and neurofeedback system. Children in group A received of respiratory biofeedback training in the form of diaphragmatic breathing, deep breathing and pursed lip 15 min immediately after their second chemotherapy session, while children in group B did not receive any intervention. Results: Post–treatment analysis revealed significant improvements in Group A compared to Group B, including a decreased heart rate (p = 0.001), increased heart rate variability (p = 0.001), reduced galvanic skin response (p = 0.003), lowered respiratory rate (p = 0.02), and decreased blood volume pulse (p = 0.007). Conclusion: respiratory biofeedback exercises was found to increase HRV, and decrease HR, GSR, RR and BVP.

Summary, etc. تهدف الدراسة الي تقييم التاثير الفوري للتمارين الهوائيه علي التوتر الفيزيائى والقدرات الوظيفيه للاطفال المصابه بسرطان الدم.تم اختيار ستون طفل من الجنسين عشوائيا من المعهد القومي للاورام والذين تم تصنيفهم كاطفال قلقين نتيجه تعرضهم للعلاج الكيماوي بعد اصابتهم بسرطان الدم الليمفاوي الحاد وتم تقسيمهم عشوائيا الي مجموعتين متساوويتين: المجموعه أ (مجموعه الدراسة),المجموعه ب (المجموعه الضابطه).تم اختيار الاطفال في المجموعتين من خلال تشخيصهم بسرطان الدم وبعد الجلسه الاولي من العلاج الكيماوي وفحص الاضطرابات المرتبطة بقلق الاطفال.خضع الاطفال لتققيم تغير معدل ضربات القلب ,ومعدل التنفس,واستجابة الجلد الجلفانية ودورة الدم الطرفية من خلال نظام الارتجاع البيولوجي والارتجاع العصبي قبل وبعد انتهاء الدراسة.تلقي الاطفال في المجموعه(أ) تمرينات تنفسية باستخدام تمارين التنفس البطني العميق بواقع 15 دقيقه متواصله مباشرة بعد انتهاء الطفل من جلسة العلاج الكيماوي بينما لم تتلقي المجموعه(ب) أي برنامج علاجي. النتائج: وجدت هذة الدراسة زياده في معدل ضربات القلب للمحموعه أ مقارنة مع المجموعه ب بعد العلاج كما كان هناك انخفاض كبير في معدل التنفس واستجابه الجلد الجلفانيه ودورة الدم الطرفيه للمجموعه (أ) مقارنة مع المجموعة (ب) بعد المعالجه الاستنتاج: نتيجه لذلك وجد ان تمارين التنفس تعمل علي تحسين ايقاع القلب وتقلل التوتر الفيزيائي الناتج عن جلسة العلاج الكيماوي.
