| Summary, etc. | Background: Finding a relationship between cervical radiculopathy and eye hand coordination is important in treatment plan in patients with cervical radiculopathy. Eye hand coordination is used in each and every part of activities of daily living. Purpose of study: To investigate the relationship between pain in patients with lower cervical radiculopathy and eye hand coordination. Methods: Thirty patients with cervical radiculopathy and thirty healthy matched subjects of both sexes participated in this study. Their age ranged from 30 to 50 years old. Patients were selected from governmental hospitals in Zagazig city, Egypt. Participants were assigned into two equal groups. Group I (study group): included 30 patients with chronic unilateral cervical radiculopathy due to discogenic lesion in lower cervical spine. Group II (control group): included 30 healthy matched subjects with no complain. Neck pain intensity was assessed by numeric pain rating scale. All participants underwent eye hand coordination assessment using the purdue pegboard test, the talking pen by Wayne engineering, wall catch test and standardized finger to nose test. Results: There was a significant relationship between cervical radiculopathy and eye hand coordination. There was a statistically significant difference between both groups (p = 0.001) in all eye hand coordination tests as there was a significant decrease in Purdue pegboard test scores, dominant, non-dominant, bilateral and assembly of study group compared with that of control group. There was a significant increase in talking pen test time and number of errors of dominant and non-dominant hand in all tests of study group compared with that of control group. There was a significant decrease in standardized finger to nose scores and the wall catch test of study group compared with that of control group. There was a negative significant correlation between numeric pain rating scale and purdue pegboard test scores, standardized finger to nose test, and wall catch test. There was a positive significant correlation between numeric pain rating scale and talking pen test time and number of errors while using dominant and non- dominant hands. Conclusions: Patients with lower cervical radiculopathy have significant impairment in eye hand coordination. This may give attention to physical therapists to add eye hand coordination treatment plan during management of patients of cervical radiculopathy. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفيه: يعد العثور على علاقة بين إعتلال الجذور العنقية والتوافق العضلى العصبى لعمل العين مع اليد أمرًا مهمًا في خطة علاجنا للمرضى الذين يعانون من اعتلال الجذور العنقية. حيث أن التوافق العضلى العصبى لعمل العين مع اليد هو جزء لا يتجزأ من حياتنا و يستخدم في كل جزء من الأنشطة اليوميه. الهدف من البحث: هو دراسة العلاقة بين اعتلال الجذور العنقية والتوافق العضلى العصبى لعمل العين مع اليد. الأشخاص والاساليب: أجريت هذه الدراسه على ثلاثين مريضًا يعانون من اعتلال الجذور العنقية وثلاثين شخصًا يتمتعون بصحة جيدة من كلا الجنسين (ذكر و أنثى) تتراوح أعمارهم من ثلاثين إلى خمسين عاما في المستشفيات الحكوميه بمدينة الزقازيق ، مصر وقد تم تقسيمهم الى مجموعتين متساوييتين فى العدد ، ضمت المجموعة الاولى (مجوعة الدراسة) ثلاثين مريضا باعتلال الجذور العنقية المزمن من جانب واحد بسبب اصابتهم بغضروف في الجزء السفلي من العمود الفقري العنقي منذ ثلاثة أشهر، وضمت المجموعة الثانية(المجموعه الضابطه): ثلاثين شحصًا أصحاء دون شكوى. تم تقييم شدة آلام الرقبة من خلال مقياس تصنيف الألم الرقمي. تم خضوع جميع المشاركين لتقييم التوافق العضلى العصبى لعمل العين مع اليد باستخدام اختبار لوحة البوردو والقلم الناطق ، واختبار الكرة الى الجدار، واختبار الإصبع إلى الأنف الموحد. النتاْئج: أوضحت النتائج أن هناك ارتباط كبير بين اعتلال الجذور العنقى والتوافق العضلى العصبى لعمل العين مع اليد. كان هناك فرق ذو دلالة احصائيه بين المجموعتين فى جميع اختبارات التوافق العضلى العصبى لعمل العين مع اليد. حيث كان هناك انخفاض كبير فى درجات اختبارات لوحة البوردو ودرجات اختبار الاصبع الى الانف و درجات اختبار الكرة الى الجدار لمجموعة الدراسة مقارنة بالمجموعة الضابطة. وزياده كبيره فى الوقت وعدد الاخطاء فى جميع اختبارات القلم الناطق فى مجموعه الدراسة مقارنة بالمجموعة الضابطة. كان هناك ارتباط عكسى بين مقياس تصنيف الالم الرقمى الذى يعبر عن درجة الالم بالرقبة ودرجات اختبارلوحة البوردو ودرجات اختبار الاصبع الى الانف و درجات اختبار الكرة الى الجدار. وجود ارتباط طردى بين مقياس تصنيف الالم الرقمى الذى يعبر عن درجة الالم بالرقبة و الوقت وعدد الاخطاء فى جميع اختبارات القلم الناطق. الخلاصة: المرضى الذين يعانون من اعتلال الجذور العنقية السفلية لديهم ضعف كبير في التوافق العضلى العصيى لعمل العين مع اليد. قد يؤدي هذا إلى اهتمام المعالجين الفيزيائيين بإضافة خطة علاجية لتنسيق عمل العين مع اليد أثناء معالجة مرضى اعتلال الجذور العنقية. |
