| Summary, etc. | Background:<br/>Desmoid tumors (DTs) are rare, non-metastatic but aggressive fibrous growths with unpredictable outcomes, influenced by hormonal, genetic, and physical factors. Treatment is challenging due to the lack of standardized protocols, with some cases showing spontaneous regression.<br/>Method:<br/>A retrospective study was conducted at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Cairo University involving 195 patients with DTs. The study focused on treatment outcomes, progression-free survival (PFS), disease free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS).<br/>Results:<br/>Younger patients and females were more affected, but no significant survival difference was observed by age or gender. Comorbidities like diabetes and cardiac disease influenced survival, with non-diabetic patients showing better DFS. Swelling was the most common symptom and DTs were mostly located in the extremities. Radiological evaluation by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) was associated with higher survival rates. Surgery was the primary treatment, with adjuvant radiotherapy improving local control. Chemotherapy showed mixed responses, and the 5-year OS rate was 93%, with recurrence occurring in 24.6% of cases.<br/>Conclusion:<br/>DTs generally have a favorable long-term survival, particularly with surgical and adjuvant treatments. Comorbidities and imaging play key roles in outcomes. However, variability in treatment responses still remains |

| Summary, etc. | الأورام الرباطية هي أورام نادرة تتميز بنمو ألياف خلوية موضعية عدوانية، وغالباً ما تكون مسارها سريرياً غير متوقع ولكنها لا تنتقل إلى أماكن أخرى. أسباب هذه الأورام غير معروفة، لكنها تتأثر بالعوامل الهرمونية، الوراثية والفيزيائية. <br/>تختلف طرق العلاج وفقاً لكل حالة، حيث يُنصح بالمراقبة في الحالات غير العرضية، بينما يتضمن العلاج الجراحي والعلاج الإشعاعي والعلاج الكيميائى والموجه في الحالات الأخرى. الدراسة التي أجريت بالمعهد القومي للأورام جامعه القاهرة شملت 195 مريضاً خضعوا لتحليل النتائج السريرية والتشخيصية والعلاجية. <br/>كانت الأعراض الأكثر شيوعاً هي التورم والألم، مع تأثيرات مختلفة على جودة الحياة مثل القلق والألم المزمن. تم استخدام الأشعة المقطعية والرنين المغناطيسي لتقييم الأورام، وأظهرت الدراسة أن المرضى الذين خضعوا للرنين المغناطيسي حققوا معدلات بقاء أفضل. <br/>كما تبين أن العلاج الجراحي هو الخيار الأكثر شيوعاً، ويعقبه العلاج الإشعاعي في بعض الحالات. <br/>بالنسبة للعلاج الكيميائي، فقد لوحظ تحسن طفيف في الحالات التي تم علاجها بالعلاج الكيميائي بشكل دوري، لكن الاعراض الجانبية كانت أعلى في العلاجات القائمة على الأنثراسيكلين. <br/>معدلات البقاء على قيد الحياة كانت جيدة بشكل عام، حيث بلغ معدل البقاء لمدة 5 سنوات 93%. |
