Ectoparasites, including fleas, mange, and ticks, are major health issues for dogs, impacting their well-being and overall quality of life. This thesis aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a nanoemulsion loaded by ivermectin in treating flea, mange, and ticks’ infestations in dogs with detection of possible side effects. The studies involved thirty-six dogs, categorized into four groups according to clinical and physical examination.: fourteen healthy dogs serving as the control, five dogs were suffering from flea infestations, five dogs were suffering from mange, and twelve dogs were suffering from mange tick infestations. These dogs were from different breeds and both sexes were included, age range from 6 months to 2 years. Blood samples were collected from each dog before treatment and then weekly for four weeks after treated by ivermectin loaded nanoemulsion to evaluate the effectiveness of nanoemulsion and to track variations in blood parameters (CBC), liver functions (ALP, AST, albumin, and globulin), lipid profile (triglycerides, cholesterol, HDL, and LDL), and the presence of blood parasites. Before treatment, the flea-infested group showed lower levels of HCT, neutrophils, triglycerides, and HDL, while dogs in the mange group showed reduced Hb, RBCs and HCT whereas, in the tick-infested group, Hb levels was decreased, while eosinophils and AST were increased compared to control group. After treatment, the flea group exhibited increase in platelet count which observed by day 7, WBC counts were decrease in day 7 and increased in day 28, also ALP, cholesterol, and HDL increase at day 28. Dogs in the mange group experienced significant drops in Hb, HCT at day 14. ALP increased at day 14 and triglycerides decreased at day 7. The tick group showed reduction of eosinophil and monocyte levels throughout the study period AST significantly decreased at day 21 compared to day 7, ALP significantly increased at day 14 & day 28 compared to day 7. Increase in globulin and HDL at day 28, decrease LDL_C at day 7 and day 21 compared to their pre-treatment levels. In conclusion, the nanoemulsion containing ivermectin was highly effective in managing external parasites, especially fleas, mange and ticks, providing a beneficial treatment option to improve the health and overall condition of infested dogs. Regular monitoring of liver enzyme levels before and during ivermectin treatment is recommended particularly in dogs with liver disease. To confirm its effectiveness, extra studies including larger population of animals need to be conducted. |

تعد الطفيليات الخارجية، بما في ذلك البراغيث والجرب والقراد، من المشكلات الصحية الرئيسية للكلاب، مما يؤثر على صحتها وجودة حياتها بشكل عام. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة مدى فعالية المستحلب النانوي المحتوي على الإيفرمكتين في علاج الإصابة بالبراغيث والجرب والقراد في الكلاب. شملت التجربة ستة وثلاثين كلبًا، تم تقسيمها إلى أربع مجموعات: أربعة عشر كلبًا سليمًا تعمل كمجموعة مراقبة، وخمسة كلاب مصابة بالبراغيث، وخمسة كلاب مصابة بالجرب، واثني عشر كلابًا مصابة بالقراد. كانت هذه الكلاب من فصائل مختلفة، وتضم ذكورًا وإناثًا وتتراوح أعمارها بين 6 أشهر وسنتين. تم جمع عينات الدم قبل العلاج ثم أسبوعيًا لمدة أربعة أسابيع لتتبع التغيرات في بارامترات الدم (CBC)، وظائف الكبد ALP AST، ملف الدهون :الدهون الثلاثية، الكوليسترول، HDL، LDL، الألبومين، والجلوبيولين، ووجود من طفيليات الدم. <br/>قبل العلاج، أظهرت المجموعة المصابة بالبراغيث مستويات أقل من HCT، والنيوتروفيل، والدهون الثلاثية، وHDL. الكلاب في مجموعة الجرب خفضت نسبة Hb و RBCs و HCT. في المجموعة المصابة بالقراد، انخفضت مستويات Hb، في حين زاد AST. بعد العلاج، لوحظ مجموعة البراغيث زيادة في عدد الصفائح الدموية في اليوم السابع، وأظهر عدد كريات الدم البيضاء انخفاضًا في اليوم السابع وزيادة في اليوم 28 كما زداد ALP والكوليسترول والبروتين الدهني عالي الكثافة (HDL) في اليوم 28. شهدت الكلاب في مجموعة الجرب انخفاضًا كبيرًا في نسبة Hb وHCT في اليوم 14. وزاد ALP في اليوم 14 وانخفضت الدهون الثلاثية في اليوم 7. أظهرت مجموعة القراد انخفاضًا في مستويات اليوزينيات وحيدات الخلية طوال فترة الدراسة، حيث انخفض AST بشكل ملحوظ في اليوم 21 مقارنة باليوم 7، وزاد ALP بشكل ملحوظ في اليوم 14 واليوم 28 مقارنة باليوم 7. وزيادة الجلوبيولين والبروتين الدهني عالي الكثافة (HDL) في اليوم 28، وانخفاض LDL_C في اليوم 7 واليوم 21 مقارنة بمستويات ما قبل العلاج. |
