| Summary, etc. | The present study aimed to survey a wide variety of both captive and free-living wild birds in Egypt for the occurrence of Mycoplasma spp.. A total of 250 birds representing eleven orders (17 species); samples were processed for isolation and identification of Mycoplasma species; microbiologically and by molecular techniques. Out of the examined samples, 38/250 (15.2%) were positive samples for the isolation of Mycoplasma species. Isolates were confirmed by PCR testing using GPO primers, resulting in 22/38 (57.90 %) positive samples, belonging to six orders, where the highest occurrence of mycoplasma positive samples was in Galliformes followed by Strigiformes, Columbiformes, Accipitriformes, Bucerotiformes, and Cicoiniformes respectively. From all mycoplasma-positive samples, M. gallisepticum and M. synoviae were only detected in 2 orders (Accipitriformes, Galliformes) with a higher prevalence of M. gallisepticum than M. synoviae. Selected eight PCR products were sequenced and submitted to the GenBank taking the accession numbers; OR143719, OR143720, OR143721, OR143722, OR143723, OR143724, OR143725, OR143726. Phylogenetic analysis and phylogenetic tree of 8 selected strains revealed a high variability of Mycoplasma species, and significant similarities between the studied Egyptian strains and some reference strains available on GenBank. |

| Summary, etc. | تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى مسح مجموعة واسعة من الطيور البرية الأسيرة والحرة في مصر لوجود بكتيريا الميكوبلازما بإجمالي 250 طائرًا تمثل أحد عشر رتبة (17 نوعًا)؛ تمت معالجتها لعزل وتحديد أنواع الميكوبلازما؛ ميكروبيولوجياً وبالتقنيات الجزيئية. من بين العينات التي تم فحصها، كانت 38/250 (15.2%) عينة إيجابية لعزل أنواع الميكوبلازما، وتم تأكيد العزلات بواسطة اختبار البلمره المتسلسل باستخدام بادئات GPO، وأسفرت النتائج عن 22/38 (57.90%) عينة إيجابية، تنتمي إلى ستة رتب.، حيث كانت أعلى نسبة تواجد في رتبه الدجاجيات يليها البوميات، الحماميات، الصقريات او الكواسر، الشقراقيات، ثم القلقيات على التوالى. من جميع العينات الإيجابية للميكوبلازما، تم اكتشاف الميكوبلازما جاليسيبتيكم والميكوبلازما سينوفى فقط في رتبتين(الصقريات والدجاجيات (مع ارتفاع معدل انتشار الميكوبلازما جاليسيبتيكم مقارنة بالميكوبلازما سينوفى. تم تسلسل ثمانية منتجات مختارة من تفاعل البوليميراز المتسلسل وتم تقديمها إلى بنك الجينات مع أخذ أرقام الانضمام؛ OR143719، OR143720، OR143721، OR143722، OR143723، OR143724، OR143725، .OR143726. كشف تحليل النشوء والتطور وشجرة النشوء والتطور لثمانية سلالات مختارة عن وجود تباين كبير في أنواع الميكوبلازما، وتشابه كبير بين السلالات المصرية قيد الدراسة والسلالات المرجعية الأخرى الموجودة في بنك الجينات. |
