Summary, etc. Asteraceae is among the largest families of flowering plants. For centuries, many Asteraceae plants have been utilized as a natural source of several drugs due to their nutritional and medicinal value. Echinops L., or globe thistle is one of the most unique genera in the Asteraceae family. This genus has garnered recently significant attention in ethnopharmacology and herbal drug discovery. Several pharmacological studies have recently revealed the potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, cytotoxic, and analgesic properties of bioactive substances derived from the Echinops extracts. <br/>Echinops taeckholmiana Amin is one of the six species identified in Egypt. It is endemic to the Northwest Nile Delta. After reviewing the literature, only one study was published on E. taeckholmiana Amin in 2021. <br/>The current study represents for the first time a broad phytochemical investigation of E. taeckholmiana aerial parts through several techniques such as GC-MS analysis of the n-hexane lipoidal matter, HPLC-DAD quantitative analysis, and UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS metabolite fingerprinting of the methanolic extract. These approaches led to the identification of 42 compounds from GC-MS analysis, 18 phenolic acids and flavonoid compounds from HPLC, and 82 metabolites from UPLC-MS/MS belonging to several chemical classes of which flavonoids and phenolic acids were the major. All of the foregoing gives us a broad understanding of the plant chemical composition and its potential medicinal applications. Moreover, four pure compounds were isolated from ethyl acetate fraction and identified as apigenin (1), apigenin-7-O-(6"-trans-p-coumaroyl-β-D-glucopyranoside) (2), apigenin-7-O-(6"-p-hydroxybenzoate) glucoside (3), and kaempferol-7-O-β-(6"-p-hydroxy benzoyl) glucoside (4). The biological investigations of the plant revealed that E. taeckholmiana aerial parts methanolic extract exhibited promising antioxidant activity, antimicrobial activity especially against S. aureus (MIC 33.41±1.58 mg/mL), and selective cytotoxic activity against A-549 (11.2 % cell viability) (IC50 2.407µg/mL) and HepG-2 (29.9%) cancer cell lines, which may be attributed to its high content of phenolics. Moreover, the present study for the first time investigates the potential anti-Alzheimer effect of E. taeckholmiana through in vitro and in vivo studies. The results revealed that it was effective in the amelioration of cognitive deficits and that it could be a promising natural source for Alzheimer's disease prevention. Additionally, the identified compounds in E. taeckholmiana were further examined by molecular docking clarifying the candidate with greater affinity to acetylcholine esterase (AChE) compared to donepezil. Molecular dynamic (MD) simulations of the superior candidate were performed to evaluate its exact stability within the active site during the 20 ns of the simulation time. Molecular docking revealed that delphinidin-3-O-hexoside had a greater affinity to AChE, compared to the co-crystallized donepezil ligand (-8.79 kcal/mol). Furthermore, MD simulations clarified that the delphinidin-3-O-hexoside - AChE complex system had a stable conformation.

Summary, etc. اكتسب العلاج بالأعشاب اهتمامًا خاصًا كجزء لا يتجزأ من الطب التقليدي في مجموعة متنوعة من القطاعات الطبية حول العالم. تحتل العائلة النجمية المرتبة الأعلى في المملكة النباتية وتشمل توزيع عالمي خاصة في المناطق الاستوائية وشبه الاستوائية. تتكون العائلة النجمية من حوالي ١٦٠٠ جنس وأكثر من ٢٥٠٠٠ فصيلة وتنقسم إلى ٣ تحت عائلات و١٧ قبيلة من النباتات العشبية والشجيرات والأشجار. من الناحية الشكلية، فإن وجود نورة تشبه الرأس تسمى الكابتيولوم محاطة بغلاف من القنابات هو السمة الفريدة للعائلة.<br/>يعتبر جنس الإشينوبس، واحدًا من أكثر الأجناس تميزًا في العائلة النجمية. يتميز بنوراته الكروية ذات السطح الشوكي. وقد حظي هذا الجنس بإهتمام كبير في علم الأدوية العرقية واكتشاف الأدوية العشبية نظرًا لتعدد الأنشطة الدوائية له: كمضادات للإلتهابات، مضادات للأكسدة، مضادات للبكتيريا، مضادات للسرطانات المختلفة وكمسكنات للآلام ، تُعزى إلى وجود العديد من الفئات الكيميائيه النشطه بيولوجيا .<br/>يشمل جنس الإشينوبس أكثر من ١٣٠ فصيلة ؛ تم تعريف ستة أنواع منها في جمهورية مصر العربية ، أحدها تتضمن نبات الإشينوبس تايكهولميانا أمين و الذى يستوطن شمال غرب دلتا النيل، مصر. من خلال مراجعة الأدبيات، تم نشر دراسة واحدة فقط عن النبات في عام ٢٠٢١. لذا، تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى التحقيق بشكل أكبر في التركيب الفيتوكيميائي والأنشطة البيولوجية للنبات موضوع الدراسة.
