| Summary, etc. | Through the years, Phyllanthus species (Phyllanthaceae) have attracted the interest <br/>of researchers due to their wide applicability in traditional research. Those activities are <br/>well correlated with diversity in their phytoconstituents. While Phyllanthus emblica L. (P. <br/>emblica) has been extensively studied, limited information about Phyllanthus angustifolius <br/>(Sw.) (P. angustifolius) is available. The current study includes genetic characterization, <br/>phytochemical and biological evaluation of P. angustifolius leaves while using P. emblica <br/>L. which has been extensively studied, as a reference. The phytochemical study included <br/>quantitative estimation of phenols, tannin, vitamins, and minerals which allowed further <br/>enlightening of the phytoconstituents. Besides, the metabolic profiles of both P. emblica <br/>and P. angustifolius were addressed using high-performance liquid chromatography- <br/>tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). Mass spectrometry-based molecular <br/>networking was used to cluster the identified metabolite ions visualizing the chemical <br/>classes and substructures variation within the molecular families. <br/>In vitro studies highlighted the importance of both species as cholinesterase <br/>inhibitors, antioxidant and with wound healing activity while in vivo studies showed the <br/>safety of leaf extract and its anticholinesterase activity in the scopolamine-induced <br/>cognitive impairment in rats which was comparable to donepezil with high antioxidant and <br/>anti-inflammatory activities. P. angustifolius not only improves cognitive function but also <br/>modulates the key biochemical pathways associated with dementia escorted with cognitive <br/>impairment diseases, making it a promising candidate for further exploration in <br/>neuroprotective therapy. Through this study P. angustifolius served as a good candidate <br/>for drug discovery with very promising biological activity. |

| Summary, etc. | جنس اَلأَملج يعتبر واحدا من الاجناس العديدة التي تنتمي الى عائلة الأملجاوات. تتميز <br/>نباتات النباتات في جنس اَلأَملج هي في الغالب أشجار كبيرة وبعضها من الشجيرات والأعشاب الصغيرة. جنس اَلأَملج <br/>موطنه المناطق الاستوائية و شبه الاستوائية، هو أحد أهم وأكثر الأنواع المزروعة في العالم وتشمل أكثر من 800<br/>نوع من بين هذه الأنواع نبات أملج ضيق سو. الذي تم اختياره لإجراء هذه الدراسة مع مقارنته بنبات أملج شائع ل. <br/>تُستخدم نباتات جنساَلأَملج على نطاق واسع من قبل ممارسي الطب التقليدي في جميع <br/>أنحاء العالم. نشأ استخدام نباتات جنس اَل ْأَملج في جنوب الهند كدواء شعبي شائع لعلاج عديد <br/>من الأمراض. بينما في أمريكا الجنوبية، يتم استخدام مغلي أوراق نباتات جنس اَل أَملج كعلاج <br/>شائع للتحكم في مستويات الجلوكوز في الدم وارتفاع ضغط الدم. كما تستخدم نباتات جنس <br/>اَل ْأَملج على نطاق واسع في الطب التقليدي أو الشعبي البرازيلي كمدر للبول كما أنها تستخدم في علاج اليرقان والتهاب الكبد<br/>وحصوات الكلى والسكري. |
