| Summary, etc. | Background: Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a prevalent, recurrent psychological and physical condition that can have a detrimental impact on girls' quality of life. Purpose: This study was intended to examine the association between physical activity levels and cognitive function in girls with PMS. Subjects: Ninety females that were having PMS enrolled into this study, they were at Faculty of Physical Therapy, Cairo University. Methods: PMS was assessed by the premenstrual syndrome scale (PMSS), Cognitive function was evaluated by the Cognitive Assessment Questionnaire (CAQ) and the Rehacom device. Physical activity level was evaluated by International Physical Activity Questionnaire (Short-form) and the functional performance of the participants was evaluated by Six Minute Walk Test (6 MWT) . Results: Indicated no significant association between cognitive function and either physical activity or functional performance (p = 0.990), (p = 0.757) respectively. There was no significant association between PMS and either cognitive function or physical activity (p = 0.076), (P=0.334) respectively. However, there was weak negative significant correlation between functional performance and logical reasoning median reaction time ( p = 0.027). And there was weak positive significant correlation between functional performance and reaction behavior task ( p = 0.007). Conclusion: The findings revealed no correlation between physical activity and cognitive function in girls with PMS. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفيه: تعتبر متلازمة ما قبل الحيض اضطرابًا نفسيًا وجسديًا شائعًا يمكن أن يؤثر سلبًا على جودة حياة الفتيات. الهدف: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التحقيق في العلاقة بين مستويات النشاط البدني والوظائف الإدراكية لدى الفتيات المصابات بمتلازمة ما قبل الحيض. الأشخاص: تم اختيار تسعين فتاة تعاني من متلازمة ما قبل الحيض من طالبات كلية العلاج الطبيعي، جامعة القاهرة. الطرق: تم تقييم متلازمة ما قبل الحيض باستخدام مقياس متلازمة ما قبل الحيض (PMSS)، وتم تقييم الوظائف الإدراكية باستخدام استبيان تقييم الوظائف الإدراكية (CAQ) وجهاز الريهاكوم. كما تم تقييم مستوى النشاط البدني باستخدام استبيان النشاط البدني الدولي (النسخة القصيرة) وتم تقييم الأداء الوظيفي للمشاركات باستخدام اختبار المشي لمدة ست دقائق (6 MWT). النتائج: أظهرت الدراسة عدم وجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الوظائف الإدراكية والنشاط البدني. وبالمثل، لم تُظهر النتائج وجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الوظائف الادراكية والأداء الوظيفي. فيما يتعلق بمتلازمة ما قبل الحيض، لم تُسفر الدراسة عن علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية مع الوظائف الإدراكية أو مع النشاط البدني. على النقيض من ذلك، كشفت الدراسة عن علاقة سلبية ضعيفة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الأداء الوظيفي ومتوسط وقت رد الفعل في اختبار التفكير المنطقي. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تم العثور على علاقة إيجابية ضعيفة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الأداء الوظيفي وسلوك رد الفعل في المهمة. الخاتمه: لا توجد علاقة بين النشاط البدني والوظائف الإدراكية لدى الفتيات المصابات بمتلازمة ما قبل الحيض. |
