| Summary, etc. | Background: Cervicogenic headache (CGH) presents as unilateral pain that starts in the <br/>neck and is referred from bony structures or soft tissues of the neck. It usually <br/>accompanies a reduced range of motion (ROM) of the neck and aggravated by sustained <br/>or unusual cervical spine movements. Cervicogenic headache can disrupt sensorimotor <br/>control and lead to a decrease in postural stability in affected individuals as a result of <br/>changes in the structure and function of the neck muscles and altered proprioceptive input <br/>from the cervical spine. Purpose: to examine the relationship between cervical mobility <br/>and balance in cervical radiculopathic patients with cervicogenic headache. Methods: <br/>Seventy patients from both sexes with age ranged from 30-52 were enrolled in this study. <br/>Patients were diagnosed with unilateral cervical radiculopathy and they had cervicogenic <br/>headache based on the international headache society criteria for CGH. Cervical range of <br/>motion and Cervical joint position error (Target Head Repositioning (THR)) were <br/>measured via Cervical range of motion (CROM) device, headache severity was assessed <br/>using (Arabic Version of Headache Impact Scale) and balance (Overall Stability Index) <br/>was measured using Biodex Balance System (BBS) Results: there was a significant <br/>negative correlation between overall stability index (OSI) and neck flexion range of <br/>motion, extension, right side bending, left side bending, right rotation and left rotation. <br/>There was a significant positive correlation between overall stability index (OSI) with <br/>extension target head repositioning (THR), flexion (THR), right rotation (THR), left <br/>rotation and left side bending (THR). However, there was no significant relation between <br/>the overall stability index (OSI) and right-side bending target head repositioning and <br/>there was a significant positive correlation between overall stability index (OSI) and <br/>headache impact score. Conclusion: Limitation of cervical mobility and the increase in <br/>headache severity may be associated with impaired balance in cervical radiculopathic <br/>patients with cervicogenic headaches. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية:<br/>يُعدّ الصداع العنقي المنشأ (Cervicogenic Headache - CGH) نوعًا من الألم أحادي الجانب يبدأ في الرقبة وينتقل من البنى العظمية أو الأنسجة الرخوة في الرقبة. غالبًا ما يصاحبه انخفاض في مدى حركة الرقبة ويتفاقم بفعل الحركات المستمرة أو غير المعتادة للفقرات العنقية. يمكن أن يؤدي الصداع العنقي المنشأ إلى اضطراب في التحكم الحسي الحركي، مما يؤدي إلى اضطراب الاتزان لدى الأفراد المصابين، وذلك نتيجة للتغيرات في بنية ووظيفة عضلات الرقبة، بالإضافة إلى خلل في المدخلات الحسية العميقةللفقرات العنقية.<br/>الهدف:<br/>دراسة العلاقة بين الحركة العنقيةوالاتزان لدى المرضى المصابين باعتلال الجذور العنقية (cervical radiculopathy) المصحوب بالصداع العنقي المنشأ.<br/>الطريقة:<br/>تم إشراك سبعين مريضًا من كلا الجنسين، تراوحت أعمارهم بين 30 و52 عامًا. تم تشخيص المرضى باعتلال جذري عنقي أحادي الجانب، وكانوا يعانون من صداع عنقي المنشأ بناءً على معايير الجمعية الدولية للصداع (International Headache Society).<br/>و تم تقييم مدى الحركة العنقية (CROM)والخطأ في تحديد وضع المفصل العنقيمن خلال اختبار إعادة تموضع الرأس المستهدف (Target Head Repositioning - THR)باستخدام جهاز CROM device.<br/>كما تم تقييم شدة الصداع باستخدام النسخة العربية من مقياس تأثير الصداع، في حين تم قياس الأتزان عبر مؤشر الاتزان الكلي (Overall Stability Index - OSI) باستخدام نظام الاتزان(Biodex Balance System - BBS).<br/>النتائج:<br/>أظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة سلبية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين مؤشر الاتزان الكلي (OSI) ومدى الحركة العنقية في أوضاع: الانثناء (flexion)، التمديد (extension)، الثني الجانبي الأيمن (right lateral flexion)، الثني الجانبي الأيسر (left lateral flexion)، الدوران إلى اليمين (right rotation)، والدوران إلى اليسار (left rotation).<br/>كما وُجدت علاقة إيجابية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين مؤشر الاتزان (O.S.I)والاخطاء في إعادة تموضع الراس المستهدف (THR) في أوضاع: التمديد، الانثناء، الدوران إلى اليمين، الدوران إلى اليسار، والثني الجانبي الأيسر.<br/>بينما لم تُظهر البيانات علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين OSI وTHR في وضع الثني الجانبي الأيمن. كما تبين وجود علاقة إيجابية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين OSI وشدة تأثير الصداع.<br/>الاستنتاج:<br/>قد يرتبط النقص في المدى الحركي للفقرات العنقية وارتفاع شدة الصداع بضعف الأتزان لدى مرضى اعتلال الجذر العنقي المصابين بالصداع العنقي المنشأ. |
