| Summary, etc. | Background: Chronic wounds are frequent, long lasting and impose substantial <br/>socioeconomic burdens and significantly affecting patient’s quality of life (QoL). <br/>Regular QoL assessment using questionnaires helps guide interventions and <br/>optimize guideline –based wound management. The Arabic version QoL <br/>questionnaire is a 17-items scale that assess patient’s quality of life who is <br/>suffering from chronic wound. However its validity and reliability were not <br/>assessed for Egyptian population. <br/>Objective: The aim of the study was to assess the validity and reliability of the <br/>newly translated Arabic version of the QoL questionnaire to assess QoL in a group <br/>of Egyptian patients with chronic wound. <br/>Methods: The original English version of the questionnaire was translated into <br/>Arabic using forward-backward translation and culturally adapted to Egyptian <br/>patients. A total of 97 with chronic wounds were shared from El-Kasr El-Ainy <br/>Hospital, Cairo University's Faculty of Physical Therapy outpatient clinic, El <br/>Minya University Hospitals and 23 July Hospital at El Marg along with two expert <br/>panels, each consisting of ten specialists. Test-retest reliability, internal <br/>consistency (Cronbach's alpha), and face and content validity were assessed. <br/>Results: The Arabic version of the QOL questionnaire demonstrated excellent <br/>internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.90). Test-retest reliability was excellent <br/>across all items, with intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) ranging from 0.84 <br/>to 0.98. The ICC for the total score was 0.81. Face validity was also excellent, with <br/>a clarity index of 95.3% and expert clearance proportion of 95.9%. Content <br/>validity was high with a content validity index (CVI) of 98% and an expert <br/>relevance proportion of 97.6%. <br/> Conclusion: The Arabic version QoL questionnaire is valid and reliable tool for <br/>assessing the life quality of Egyptian patients with chronic wounds. It is advised to <br/>be used in both clinical practice and scientific researches. |

| Summary, etc. | تم ترجمة النسخة الأولية من الاستبيان إلى العربية (ترجمة أمامية وخلفية) وتكييفها ثقافيًا بما يتناسب مع المجتمع المصري. تم اختيار مرضى (عددهم = 97) يعانون من قروح مزمنة من مستشفى القصر العيني، والعيادة الخارجية بكلية العلاج الطبيعي بجامعة القاهرة، ومستشفى 23 يوليو بالمرج الى جانب مجموعتين من الخبراء, تضم كل منهما عشرة متخصصين. تم اختبار الاتساق الداخلي (باستخدام معامل كرونباخ ألفا)، والموثوقية بالاختبار و إعادة الاختبار، وصلاحية المظهر والمحتوى . النتائج: أظهرت النسخة العربية من استبيان جودة الحياة معامل كرونباخ ألفا قدره 0.9، مما يدل على وجود اتساق داخلي ممتاز. كانت موثوقية إعادة الاختبار ممتازة لجميع بنود الاستبيان العربي؛ حيث تراوح معامل الارتباط داخل الفئة (intraclass) بين 0.84 و0.98، وبلغ الـ ICC لإجمالي الدرجة 0.81. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، أظهرت الدراسة أن استبيان جودة الحياة يتمتع بصلاحية مظهرية ممتازة (مؤشر الوضوح 95.3% ومتوسط نسبة وضوح الخبراء 95.9%). كما يتمتع بصلاحية محتوى ممتازة (مؤشر صلاحية المحتوى 98% ومتوسط نسبة ملاءمة الخبراء 97.6 %). تُعد النسخة العربية من استبيان جودة الحياة صالحة وموثوقة لتقييم جودة حياة المصريين المصابين بجروح مزمنة. ويوصى باستخدامه في الممارسات السريرية وكذلك في البحوث العلمية. |
